"Alcohol, now junk food? That satchel of yours must be home to a veritable treasure trove of delights, like likes of which I couldn't even begin to fathom. Shame too, I'm sure I could have found something tasty sooner or later..."

Stowing the Kunai she had pulled out to hunt, Morrigan then listened to Dean's explanation of the next technique. Upon hearing it involved Taijutsu she knew her Uchiha companion would have loved to have been here. He was nuts for all of that hand-to-hand combat stuff, and the localized explosion part would have no doubt also piqued his interest. But Morrigan resigned herself to do her best, as she had to pass all of this on to the little Uchihuahua, with neither the bite or the bark to stand on his own two feet. "Wait..." she thought to herself, "Malicious?!".

"I take offence to that remark. Neither my nature, nor I in general, are not malicious. I merely compose myself in a realistic manner. I will admit that I am sometimes harsh, but such is the price for common sense." The nerve of some people...

Beginning the technique by gathering Chakra in her right arm, Morrigan then changed the nature of the Chakra to Sound. She changed the frequency and amplitude of the Chakra, to match the required conditions of low frequency and high amplitude, and once she did, her arm began to subtly, yet rapidly release vibrations. As she watched her arm release a tremendous amount of energy, she posited a question to herself that she just had to ask Dean, once she had delivered sufficient payback for the "malicious" comment of course. She narrowed her eyes as Dean's clone approached her, and as the clone came within striking distance, she drove her fist forward, straight into the abdomen of the, rather annoying looking, clone. As the small explosion of energy rippled through the clone's body, Morrigan gave more of a forceful push with her punch, driving the clone physically back, at a great speed. The clone flew backwards, straight back towards Dean. Morrigan then closed her eyes, looked away and gave a surprised (but not so surprised) scream, playing the innocent victim of her own strength, rather than the roll she wished to openly portray. The roll of the laughing maniac who got their payback for an action that was far less serious than the action they got payback with. Without looking to see if Dean was okay, she asked the question she had asked herself not moments ago.

"Tell me, if this technique is so powerful, and causes such damage that it renders the limb it affects immobile for a short period of time, why doesn't it also affect the user? The explosion may emanate from the users actions, but they still have direct contact with these destructive sound waves, so there isn't anything preventing them from also experiencing backlash, is there?"

Still afraid to look if Dean was aware of her deliberate action, she remained as she was until she heard her Sensei's voice...

 

[Detective L]

Seeing the clone fly towards him, Dean quickly ducks whilst bringing out a kunai. He then lifts his left arm, slamming it into the gut of his own clone, dispersing it. He was cruel at times, and he knew Morrigan did it on purpose. Dean quickly regained his #Composure as he looked towards Morrigan, who had her back towards him.

Description: The user gathers chakra either around their fist, arm, or leg and then charges towards their opponent. Upon utilizing an attack involving the aforementioned limb, it causes a release of sonic vibrations (of a low frequency but with a high amplitude) that act as a secondary strike, making the opponent unable to use the body part that has been hit for 1 turn. This happens because the sound vibrations damage soft tissue by resonating within the water molecules that reside within it. The effect is similar to a localized explosion upon contact that rips through the targeted area and creates a shockwave that blasts the target backwards. The skill is exceptionally useful if used against solid techniques such as those from Earth Release (or similar) which will shatter upon being hit.

"Well, the sound wave is released almost instantly, from the limb towards the part of the opponent. Once its focused around your limb, it doesn't have the same effects, as when its released into the opponent's part that is struck, if that makes any sense. Good question though, thought about it myself before..Anyway, I believe we an proceed, since the next technique is fairly straight forward."

Dean says, now cleans his hands off and creates a new clone.

"Now, we got a powerful technique, that shows off Sound's power, and usefulness within a water source. Using your Sound chakra, you will gather a large amount of Sound chakra in your throat, and inhale. You will the exhale in the form of scream, roar or yell. This results in you releasing forward a massive sound shock wave of low frequency, high amplitude sound, that levels everything in its path (within reason of course). It travels faster than your average Wind and Lightning technique, and when used within a water source, it gains a +20 damage. You know what to do."

Dean says, as he gains some distance from Morrigan, knowing the impact of the technique at hand, and the clone dashes towards her.

Upon hearing how Dean asked himself the same question, Morrigan was happy, as she felt like she was asking the kinds of questions. She then turned to face Dean while he was explaining the next technique, so that she was properly prepared from here onwards. As Dean instructed, Morrigan gathered Sound Chakra within her vocal chords, then prepared to release it in the form of a vocalization of some sort, like a scream or a roar, or something along those lines. As Dean created another Clone, Morrigan wondered what kind she would perform the technique with. She felt almost embarrassed, as she always tried to compose herself in a calm and collected manner, but this would be difficult when screaming at the top of ones lungs... As Dean retreated to a safe distance, thanks to the level of destruction this technique could apparently inflict, and his clone charged her, she decided to swallow her pride and just scream at the top of her lungs. And so she did. As the clone reached the threshold between a medium and short range, Morrigan slowly and steadily exhaled, before violently erupting into a violent, blood curdling scream. Combining the Sound Release Chakra with the loud vocalization caused an explosive shock wave to tear through the clone, and in the case of a real human body these vibrations would cause severe internal damage. As the clone was struck by the violent vocalization, the damage it caused to the body was more than sufficient to cause the clone technique to dissipate. Noticing the clone's sudden disappearance, Morrigan ended her screaming and looked at the damage dealt to the environment as she desperately tried to catch her breath. The terrain was clearly affected by the Jutsu, the vibrations causing the ground to start to tear apart, but the damage done to the clone was clearly more intense, as that was where the technique was focused. And to think, the damage could be increased if the technique was performed within a Water source? Truly, sound was starting to appear more and more diverse and powerful to the young witch.

"*Gasp* Well... *Pant* That was certainly... An interesting experience... *Gasp* Can we hold a moment that I may catch my breath? *Ahem* Growing up as I did, I never found a reason to raise my voice higher than the solemn sound of the wilds, so that was a first for me..."

After a moment Morrigan caught her breath and composed herself, appearing more like the calm and prepared individual she was before she started.

 

[Detective L]

Dean watches Morrigan as she moves forward to perform the technique. Dean in the mean time, had gained some distance from her, and watched from afar. As she performed the technique with ease, Dean was impressed. That technique was quite difficult to get the first time for Dean, and yet she could easily use it, though it did seem like it had some form of an effect on her. She would get used to it though, since Sound did put some stress on the vocal cords. Dean then let out a slight smirk.

The resulting effect is a massive forward shockwave of low frequency, high amplitude sound that levels anything in its path. Despite weakening as it travels, its faster than most wind or lightning techniques and can still be defended from. If used within a water source it receives +20 damage.

"Awesome job, Morrigan, and sure. The next technique requires you to read through it anyway, so how about you read through it, and explain to me what it encompasses, before performing it? Its Genjutsu.."

Dean says jokingly, knowing that he loved it a lot, and that perhaps, Morrigan shared the same love for Genjutsu as he did. Maybe it was something to do with the fact that they were both Nekura, who knows.

Description: The user charges Ototon chakra into his hands and snaps his fingers, triggering a genjutsu through the emission of high frequency sound waves. As he snaps, the sound is amplified, sounding as if it is directly by the enemy's ear. To them, it sounds as if something has just snapped in half. The user then manipulates the illusion to make it appear as if either a large branch has fallen from a tree or the ground under them has broken clean in half, causing the target to believe they are falling through the earth or have been struck with a large object, pushing them to the earth. The user has control over the illusion, being able to make it seem as if entire trees have been snapped in half, falling on the target or as if an earth structure has collapsed either above or beneath the opponent, etc. The illusion can be edited to fit the situation and even the sound can be slightly altered deepening on the object that is "snapped". Is more effective depending upon the terrain this is used in ( extremely effective in a forest, not effective in a desert ).

"Genjutsu you say? Not to cheapen myself with braggadocio, but I do like to consider myself a student of deception and manipulation. Let us have a look then, shall we...?"

Reading through the provided scroll, Morrigan noted a few key points about this technique that made it stand out from the Illusionary Technique's she had already learned. She tried to think of the best way to put her thoughts into words, however it seemed she could only do as she usually did, and broke it down, layer by layer.

"Well first, of course, this technique is based on the usage of Sound Release, thus the execution relies on some sort of Sound to induce the Genjutsu, which is a first for me I must say. T'is why the user is required to gather Sound Chakra in their fingers, then snap them, for it is that sound that introduces the Genjutsu to the target. It appears that by channelling Sound Chakra into one's fingers, then performing a snap, the user is able to direct the sound from the snapping action straight to the target, as the notes here indicate that the target hears the sound as though it were right next to them. However that may not always be the case, as the technique apparently can cover a wide area, so this must mean the Sound is directed at the target, and not just the result of the nearest person hearing the sound..."

As she continued to read through the notes of the Genjutsu, she noticed the distinct theme of "snapping" with the technique, either the sound from the user's action, or from the target's perception, there would usually be a "snapping" sound involved.

"From there, the target hears the sound of something from the environment snapping, either a tree branch, or indeed an entire tree, the earth itself, or anything that would logically produce such a sound from itself when broken. From there the Genjutsu is initiated, and the target perceives themselves either as being driven into the ground with a great deal of force, like something extremely heavy has fallen on top of them, or as though they are falling and that the earth itself has split apart and they are falling to their death. In one scenario the target may be unable to move, as the body may perceive itself as being pinned down by something too large to move, while in the other, they may be overcome with the sensation of falling to their death, or at the very least falling a great distance. Neither one appears to do any real inflicted damage, as this is not a "Demonic" Illusion, but nor does it have to be as merely occupying the target's time could be more than enough for a swift dispatch..."

And as she finished her analysis of the notes, Morrigan also noticed something that wasn't commonly associated with Genjutsu, at least in her experience. An extreme case of versatility.

"It also appears as though the Genjutsu can be tailored to one's specific needs, depending on their current situation. This... Malleability is rather new to me, for Genjutsu usually seem to have a specific usage, which they never deviate far from. If they did, more likely than not, the technique would make little sense, and fall apart. But with this, the user is given an almost absurd amount of freedom. Whether they be fighting in a forest or a bar, a wasteland or a city, it seems as though there will always be a way to utilize this technique to the user's advantage. Of course there are places where this would make little sense, like a desert, where there would be nothing that could truly "snap", and where the earth would be even less likely to make that same sound if it were to be split apart. That being said... I am honestly surprised. Sound Release appears to have more tricks up it's sleeve than even I dared imagine... So, I should perform this now, correct? May I have a volunteer from the audience, please?"

Dean watched Morrigan as she analyzed the technique. She could easily understand the technique, which was great and saved Dean some time in explaining it, since it was pretty self-explanatory, but had some hidden stuff here and there. He remembered the time he had to use the technique, how with a simple snap of one's fingers, one could easily change the tide of the battle. The power, it all lay in one's finger tips..

"Very well done, and something to mention about Sound Release Illusions. They are capable of traveling all the way to Long range, almost instantaneously. Nonetheless, yes, perform it. I'll send a clone to its death..again."

Dean says, as he creates a shadow clone which runs towards Morrigan.

"Oh? Nigh instant activation through a simple hand motion and practically instant transmission to the target, regardless of distance? This is almost too much to handle... Almost."

As Dean remarked about sending another clone to it's death, Morrigan wanted to point out that it was a better alternative than taking the full brunt of the technique's himself. But as she watched Dean weave the Seal and formed the replica of himself, Morrigan knew that it was pointless to say it out loud. Instead she focused on the technique at hand. Literally. (Shit, looks like one of Shayde's puns made it into this training...) Morrigan had all the time in the world, as Dean had retreated to a safer distance due to the previous technique, giving her plenty of time to become accustomed to gathering Sound Chakra in small, specific points on her body, while also preparing to utilize that same Chakra to perform Genjutsu.

She began by gathering Sound Release Chakra in her hand, focused on her middle finger's tip and thumb, and as Dean's Clone grew ever closer, Morrigan raised her hand, pointing it directly at him while she readied her finger and thumb. As the clone entered within roughly 10m of Morrigan, she snapped her fingers, releasing the gathered Sound Release Chakra and combined it with the sound from the simple act of pushing one's fingers against each other until they finally give way, creating a "snap". The sound from the snap, as well as the Sound Release Chakra that was infused into the snap, almost instantly traversed the distance between the two. As soon as the Clone of Dean heard the snap, the Genjutsu, that the Sound Release Chakra was gathered to create, took effect. The Clone of perceived the snap, not as some faint, distant snapping of someone's fingers, but as a loud, clear snap, as though something close to him had just given way, boding ill for him. Suddenly the ground felt as though it had given way, and from the clone's perspective, it had. The ground beneath the Clone seemed to have completely separated and given way, and so the Clone fell to what felt like his death.

During the time the clone felt like it was falling, Morrigan walked up to him and performed the "Kai" method, releasing the Clone from the Genjutsu, without injuring and risking the clones life. It almost seemed as though the Witch had some kindness in her, when suddenly the Clone heard another snap... This time a tree, which seemed to appear from nowhere, fell on top of the clone, pinning him into the ground. Morrigan simply wanted to test the capabilities of both scenario's of the Genjutsu, without asking Dean to make another. This method was most certainly crueller... Morrigan released the Clone from the Genjutsu, again, but this time it was by driving a Kunai straight through the clones chest. As the Clone disappeared from the world, Morrigan turned to Dean and said with a grim smile...

"Waste not, want not, don't you think so...?"

As deadly as ever, Dean thought as he watched Morrigan. She quickly performed the Genjustu, and took care of the opponent. Dean was impressed, as he remembered his time with Sound Genjutsu. He couldn't get over the fact that it was so awesome, but that was probably because he was a fan of Genjutsu, and to have Genjutsu as free as this, he simply couldn't fathom it. Nonetheless, Dean gave a slight smirk and nodded his head in agreement.

"Awesome, you're pretty ruthless at times, you know that? Anyway, for the next technique, I think we should use a live target, as in a person. The cool thing about these Sound techniques, are that they work all the way up to Long range. This next technique is a very good example of Hindering Sound waves."

Dean then walked towards Morrigan, pointing in the direction of a lost soul (not literally), as he wandered away from the festivities of the area where Dean and Morrigan had done their previous experiments. With the man now situated between some trees, he would be the perfect target.

"See that guy over there? He'll be your target. Focus your Sound based chakra into your vocal chords and then whistle, which releases a high frequency sound wave. This immediately creates a faint buzzing Sound in the targets' ear, it becomes louder and then completely impairs the opponent's hearing as the buzzing grows louder and louder. It would basically sound like a bee is stuck in his ear, drowning out any other sounds, unless they are extremely loud. This makes this technique perfect for uses a sneaking technique right afterwards, as they would hear a technique that's generally difficult to pick up, it would now be nigh impossible. This impairment lasts three turns. Think you can show me something creative with this live target?"

Dean asked, challenging Morrigan to do something that would impress him.

"After dealing with that guy, don't kill him though, come back and tell me about the technique."

 

[Imperfect]

"I'm sure there are those who are far more ruthless than me. I was merely being... Considerate. Yes, considerate. For if I had killed that one, and was yet curious about the alternate usage of that Genjutsu, you would have had to provide me with another Clone. And I'm sure that dividing your Chakra between this many clones must be tiring, no?"

As Dean described and pointed out her would-be target or this demonstration, she wondered why Dean wanted something creative from this technique. Could it be used for more than mere distraction? How could one use the concept of overbearingly loud buzzing from the target's perspective to do more than than the mundane? As she gathered the required Chakra for the technique in her throat, she also tried to ponder hypothetical usages, either in battle, or anywhere else. Morrigan then infused the gathered Sound Release Chakra in her vocal chords, and inhaled whilst slowly walking towards the unfortunate target. As she neared her prey, she let loose a shrill noise by pushing her own breath through her lips, performing a whistle. She used the noise sound from this action, which were combined with her Chakra which was composed of high frequency waves, to invade the ears of the poor man who just happened to be in the wrong place, at the right time for Morrigan to perform this technique. As soon as the whistle had been heard by the man, he heard a dreadfully annoying sound, as though a bee-hive had been formed in his ear instantaneously. He began wildly swinging at thin air, trying to swat whatever was buzzing around him. As Morrigan grew ever closer, she began sizing this man up, and what she could do to deliver a more creative usage, and then it hit her...

"Oh dear, are you okay?! You seem to be covered in bees, let me help you!!"

Morrigan shouted at the man, so as he could hear her above her technique. She began to pretend "swatting" at "insects" around the man, pretending to be the man's saviour rather than his tormentor. To help keep the pantomime fresh, she pulled out a senbon, and jabbed the man at random locations and intervals, as she pleaded him to remain still. As she patted the man down in between her "swatting sessions", she pilfered and pick-pocketed almost everything but the clothes off the man's back. And not a few moments later, the buzzing seemed to quieten down. So as the man thanked Morrigan, and went on his way, fearful of another random hive attack, Morrigan quickly and quietly returned to Dean's side with an offer. Holding the man's walet out for Dean to see, she asked...

"Dinner? His My treat." :snick:

"Well, let's just say I have a lot of chakra.."

Dean watches as Morrigan uses the technique on the unsuspecting man. She did it with ease, and within mere moments, the man had become irritated by the Sound in his ears. Dean smiles, as he thinks about how difficult it would be to avoid this technique in battle. Nonetheless, he grabs the scroll from his bag, as she makes her way back towards Dean and shows the wallet that she stole. The only words Dean could say was;

"Well done. Its a great technique for distraction purposes, but also, very difficult to counter once it has taken effect."

He then throws the scroll towards her.

"Read a bit more on it, and see what other effects it has, that makes it so useful."

Dean says, as he thinks about what they can go eat with this "borrowed" money.

Description: The user gathers Ototon chakra in his vocal chords. He then whistles, releasing a high frequency sound wave, creating a sound similar to a faint buzzing in the target's ear, similar to Ringing Madness. However, instead of causing a foe to become disoriented, it impairs his hearing, making the buzzing the only thing that he can hear, seeming as if the target has bees swimming around his ear. The buzzing drowns any sound out, unless they are exceptionally loud (i.e. great explosions, one yelling directly into the target's ear, etc), making it very difficult for the target to hear incoming jutsus or attacks.
Note: Hearing impairment lasts 3 turns

"Seems as though Chakra is not the only thing you have a lot of. If you could weaponize that charisma of yours, the world wouldn't stand a chance against your charms."

As Dean then tossed the scroll containing the Jutsu's details to Morrigan, she began reading through the notes on the technique, paying great attention to the smaller details, such as the duration which the technique lasted, almost as long as a physical technique, in addition to what Dean had noted before, about it reaching great distances almost instantly, as well as the fact the technique was very difficult to counter, block or evade. And she couldn't help but simply marvel at the possibilities.

"Completely removing one of the target's base 5 senses for as long as this technique allows, in addition to the fact it's nigh unstoppable to begin with, is very useful. Especially if you have the means to remove at least two more, namely their sight and smell, but mainly sight. If you are capable of pulling this off, then your target is, for all intents and purposes, incapable of defending themselves for they have no way of telling what you are doing. Of course this is only if they don't have a form extra-sensory detection, in which case they are still limited to what they can "sense", be it Chakra itself or anything else that can be sensed these days, however you would still usually be in the more favourable position.
In addition to this, one could also use the very sound the target perceives from this Technique to their advantage, initiating a visual Genjutsu to make it seem as though the target were swarmed by bees, wasps or whatever would be appropriate. At the very least the distraction this would logically cause could allow the user a small opening to attack, or prepare for a larger attack, or something of the sort.

In summary, while the sound generated is somewhat limiting, the usages aren't. I've given two completely differing examples of how this Technique could be used in combat, either focusing on the fact it negates one of the Primary Senses and then target the others to make the opponent incapable of perceiving your actions or movements through their most common Senses, or focusing on the context of the Sound itself and then sculpting an illusion to compliment that sound, but I'm sure there are many more ways this could be utilized. It's just a matter of time until they present themselves."

Morrigan then pocketed the scroll, awaiting further instructions.

OOC: I have something that can render my opponent's sense of smell and sight useless in one move, so, yeah, I'm definitely keeping this technique in mind for some kind of combo.

Dean nodded his head in agreement to Morrigan's analysis of the technique. He liked that she added a Genjutsu, to add it in, making it difficult to discern what exactly was the real cause of the technique. It was definitely one of the more subtle, yet powerful Sound techniques around. Too bad Dean hadn't gotten a chance to use it that much yet, but he would, soon. Nonetheless, another technique was done for, and they were already half way through Sound release. Dean wondered if he would miss Morrigan's quirky comments after training, maybe they should for a drink soon in Minas Morgul.

"Very good, and what can I say, I was born with this charm. It's the best thing about me, next to my good looks. Anyway, good usage and analysis. Combining it with Genjutsu would be ingenious, but even combining it with a normal technique, and performing it right afterwards, so after that technique had been countered, the Sound techniques' effects would still linger. A perfect combination. Especially to those who rely on their hearing."

Dean says, jokingly.

"Now, we'll be moving on to the last B rank technique of Sound release. The next technique is similar to (Ototon: Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Echo Assault Skill, where you will have to focus some Sound chakra to your vocal chords. You will then let out a scream, yell or roar, which releases a low frequency, high amplitude Sound wave. However, this Sound wave isn't released forward, but instead, in an omni-directional manner. Which starts from you as a vocal point, and expands outwards. This pushes back opponents, and weapons with ease. Emphasis on push, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't cause damage, as 40 damage is still sustained from this. Very nice to use when the opponent is extremely close, or a faster opponent tries to blitz you. You will simply wait, and suddenly release this, giving them no where to run, or hide. Can also be used against Water or Earth, pushing back structures or loose water and water techniques. Overall, a simple technique with many uses."

Dean says, as he slams his hands onto the ground and by using his Earth chakra, cause a multitude of pillars to rise from Mid range around Morrigan heading inwards. They emerge like Kaguya bones, with small intervals between them. If she didn't deal with them soon, they would pierce her when it reaches the middle.

"You know what to do."

Dean says, with a serious tone.

"So you're saying it'd be wiser to use a physical technique first, purely for the purposes of distracting the target from this technique in order to guarantee its success? I guess I was focusing too much on the complicated collaborations and machinations and not on general execution and usage. I shall keep this in mind for the future, thank you."

As Dean then explained how this one was very similar to one of the previous techniques, and how it could potentially be used, Morrigan liked the sound of being able to defend herself from enemies who opted to "speed blitz" their targets, and strike their blind spots. Having this Jutsu in her arsenal made such attempts much less frightening for herself, and more so for the speedy blighters who relied on such tactics.

"Despite the fact that this is similar to the technique before the two past, I do love the sound of it. The thought of being able to cover my blind spots at a moments notice is a very good one indeed."

Morrigan watched as Dean then released his Chakra into the ground below their feet, forming deadly spikes from the ground itself, the likes of which could impale the unsuspecting sort. Fortunately Morrigan was paying a great deal of attention to her teachers actions prior to him initiating his Jutsu, so she was mentally prepared for most anything he was going to throw at her. As soon as she saw the spikes advance on her position, she gathered Sound Release Chakra in her vocal chords, same as before. And as the spikes entered within a reasonably sensible, yet still dangerous, distance from herself,

As waves of low freq, high amp Sound Release Chakra travelled outwards from her position they tore through the physical structure of the deadly that were being raised mere meters from herself, as well as the very ground below her feet. The waves of Sound Chakra from the Jutsu overpowering the Chakra being used to produce the pillars, pushing them back with a good deal of force, causing them to not only stop forming, but also begin breaking down thanks to the vibrations tearing the solid structures down on a molecular level. This prevented the generation of additional pillars before they could advance any further, potentially harming or even maiming the Witch. Witnessing how the Jutsu both prevented the pillars from advancing, and began to break down the others, Morrigan was pleased to see that she was unharmed, despite leaving the technique until one of the last possible moments. She then turned to Dean and waited for her next set of instructions, reflecting on what she had picked up so far...

These Sound Release Jutsu... They all seem to have their own specific purposes, and yet they also go above and beyond the normal scope of what would usually be allowed in Jutsu of their nature. A Genjutsu that is not tied to one simple concept, a hindering Sound that can be both distraction and debilitation, a sonic shock wave that comes in the form of both a projectile and an omnidirectional blast... No wonder this Element is so coveted. It's simply brimming with both power and potential in spades.

Perfect. The pillars were destroyed with ease, as Morrigna quickly performed it and left Dean using his Nekura cloak to block the incoming flying shrapnel from the debris of Earth. Nonetheless, after lifting up his cloak like a fake Dracula would in an old moving picture, Dean would throw the scroll towards her, allowing her to read more on the technique. It wasn't as intricate as the previous technique, so Dean would merely move on.

Description: Similar to the (Ototon: Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Echo Assault Skill, the user concentrates chakra into their vocal cords, amplifying his/her voice and lets out a scream, roar or a yell. The effect is a large emission of low frequency, high amplitude sound waves but instead of a forward attack, its manipulated into an omnidirectional sound blast that expands outwards all around the user, pushing attacks and enemies backwards with might.

"Alright, so we basically covered what that technique does. Next, we have the A ranks, but how about a test? I always like it when someone performs a combination attack with all the techniques they have learned so far. So how about I create a few clones, and you take 'em all out..Roman Colosseum Style! You can use any of the Sound techniques you have learned. "

Dean says, as he takes a pre-written scroll out of his bag, and bites his thumb. With a single slam, Dean would cause a massive Earthen Colosseum to rise around them, fitted with seats and fake crowd members, all made out of Earth. Dean would rush up, and scream;

"Entertain."

As he creates four clones, that forms around Morrigan. The clones perform the Henge jutsu in order to don themselves in older clothes, with paint over their faces. This was serious, yet funny at the same time. Perhaps Morrigan would enjoy it.

Since you say the clones form around me, I'll assume they're North, South, East and West of me, just for the sake of continuity and to keep things straight in my head.

Reading through the scrolls information, it only revealed what Morrigan knew already. That the technique was very similar to the Echo Assault Skill, with reduced overall range, but increased area of effect. This made it the perfect choice for either offensive or defensive options in close quarters combat, while still allowing the previous technique to reign over general long-range combat. Anyway, with the contents of the scroll memorized, Morrigan stored the scroll as Dean told her she had to pass a little "test" of his, by utilizing the Jutsu she had learned so far in tandem with one another. That was a trivial matter, the problem lied with the venue Dean selected for the "festivities"... As a massive earthen structure, reminiscent of some historical drama, formed around them and the clones got all dolled up, Morrigan couldn't help but snicker to herself.

"Did I just stumble into the Medieval Times or some kind of play? And what is with that get up? I don't know whether I should prepare for actual combat, or to dust off my mothers old robes and staff of fireballs and prepare to LARP for my life."

Still laughing to herself, Morrigan took note of the locations of the clones around herself as she drew 4 Kunai and a single smoke bomb from her pouch.Morrigan then kneaded and channelled Sound Release Chakra into the drawn Kunai, infusing them with a low frequency and high amplitude sound. She then threw these Kunai at the ground in front of each of the scandalously dressed clones. Once they hit their mark, she threw the smoke bomb in her hand at the ground, enveloping the area in a thick cloud of smoke.

Description: A simple technique where the user touches an object and infuses it with sound Chakra, enabling it to vibrate and produce a low frequency, high amplitude sound. The vibrations cause objects to bounce off of the targeted object which is highly useful when fighting with weapons or to make thrown basic weapons resist opposing thrown weapons.. It also resonates to the user if he were to be blind (because of a Genjutsu for example), letting the the user know the objects position and what it deflects. It can also be applied to solid objects or structures the user may wish to destroy or, by applying it to the ground or similar, detect what is around him by making it resonate with the same low frequency. The object gets no added power, only the ability to deflect incoming objects that want to counter it.

Using the vibrations emanating from the Kunai at the feet of the clones as a beacon of sorts, Morrigan could easily tell where she was in relation to the clones, giving her the edge in the smoke she created. Of course the same was true for the clones, since Dean himself was a Sound user, but they were only there so the real Dean could see Morrigan use the Sound Jutsu she had learned so far, so it was unlikely they'd interfere with Morrigan's strategy. Using the vibrations from the infused Kunai to guide her, Morrigan ran around to the back of the clone "North" of her position. As she did, she channelled more Sound Release Chakra in her right arm. She infused her arm with low frequency and high amplitude Sound waves, the kind that provided a very powerful shock wave and explosion on contact. She drove her fist directly into the back of the clone, causing the vibrations to tear through the clone's body before sending him flying with an explosive amount of force. This clone was sent flying back, directly into the path of the clone that was "South" of Morrigan's previous position. Morrigan thought to herself, "Two birds with one stone...", as the two clones dispersed, one from the Sonic Fist, the other from the impact of the Clone flying into him.

Description: The user gathers chakra either around their fist, arm, or leg and then charges towards their opponent. Upon utilizing an attack involving the aforementioned limb, it causes a release of sonic vibrations (of a low frequency but with a high amplitude) that act as a secondary strike, making the opponent unable to use the body part that has been hit for 1 turn. This happens because the sound vibrations damage soft tissue by resonating within the water molecules that reside within it. The effect is similar to a localized explosion upon contact that rips through the targeted area and creates a shockwave that blasts the target backwards. The skill is exceptionally useful if used against solid techniques such as those from Earth Release (or similar) which will shatter upon being hit.

With the two clones at the "West" and "East" left, Morrigan gathered one more medium amount of Sound Release Chakra, this time in her throat. As she infused her vocal chords with low freq, high amp Sound waves, she ran to the back of the "East" clone. Morrigan then released the Sound Release Chakra she had built up in the form of a scream. This created a powerful shock wave that easily tore through the "East" Clone, which was within short range, carrying on to the "West" Clone, dealing a massive amount of internal damage to both, causing both to simultaneously disperse.

Description: The user gathers his sound chakra into his throat as he inhales afterwards exhaling as he screams, yells or roars. The resulting effect is a massive forward shockwave of low frequency, high amplitude sound that levels anything in its path. Despite weakening as it travels, its faster than most wind or lightning techniques and can still be defended from. If used within a water source it receives +20 damage.

As the smoke cleared, Morrigan recovered her, still vibrating, Kunai and looked back at the original Dean.

"Is this not the part where you extend your arm and decide whether or not I be fed to overgrown kittens? Art thou not entertained?"

Activating his enhanced hearing, Dean himself watched from afar, with great clarity. She used the technique with ease, and there was no problem in regards to her performance of the techniques. Dean smiled, as he lifted the fake sword to the sky, as the clones were defeated. He was still in the zone. He heard her comments, but paid no mind to it. He was a king, for a minute.

"Entertained, I AM. DISPERSE!!"

He says, as the arena poofs away, and Dean stands in the midst of the smoke. Using this moment, he quickly changed back to his normal attire. His face now serious, as if nothing happened, he walked towards Morrigan.

"You never speak of this >,> Anyway, I see no problem in your usage of the techniques, so we can move on to the more powerful A ranks. If you think you have seen power, that was nothing. These next techniques take the element to another level, showcasing its rarity and power. Anyway, let us begin. See, this next technique has a bit more precision, and is actually a more advanced version of the (Ototon: Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Echo Assault Skill technique. You will gather Sound chakra in your throat, and inhale. You will then exhale as you scream, roar or yell. This allows you to release forward a shock wave of low frequency, high amplitude sound. However, despite its higher rank, this one only covers a 50 degree range before you. It also moves a bit slower than your normal Lightning technique. When used within a water source, it gains a +20 damage. Very simple, this time use it against that tree to rip it to shreds."

Dean says, as he points towards the tree.

"I promise not to tell a soul, as I am complicit to... Whatever you want to call that. Acknowledging it would tarnish my reputation as well as your own, so my lips shall remain sealed..."

After swearing to secrecy, Morrigan listened to Dean explain how the next batch of Technique's were more powerful and rare than the last. Raising her hopes, only to dash them in the next sentence, Dean explained that the first Jutsu was similar to the Echo Assault Skill from before, albeit with a few minor tweaks to it's overall speed and area of effect, no doubt from trying to extend the power of the base Technique. With that in mind, Morrigan sized up her target, the tree Dean had singled out, and prepared. Gathering Sound Release Chakra in her throat, she infused it with her vocal chords, making sure to manipulate the Sound Release Chakra to create low freq, high amp Sound Waves. Building up more Chakra than the regular Echo Assault Skill, and concentrating just as hard, Morrigan prepared to release the more focussed variant of the Offensive Sound Release Jutsu by staring down the unfortunate target for this technique. Same as with the previous technique's, Morrigan let out an explosive scream, releasing the gathered Sound Release Chakra at the same time as the violent vocalization in the form of a narrow, destructive shock wave. As the angle of this technique was apparently smaller than that of the B-Rank variant, and certainly narrower than the Close Quarters, Omnidirectional variant, Morrigan paid great attention to where she was directing the sonic blast. However as a greater level of control was required, and since Morrigan had only used the similar variant twice before, she only managed to "graze" the tree, witnessing the splintering impact first hand as a circular shape is blasted through off-centre of the tree's trunk. Slightly embarrassed that she didn't destroy the tree as instructed, Morrigan tried to snatch victory from the jaws of failure...

"*Ahem* Well... You... You did say how the technique had a narrower area of impact... And... And... I wasn't expecting the Technique to be so "accurate"... I-I shall try and become more precise with this technique in the future.. Uhh... You shall speak of this to no one." (ಠ__ಠ)

Revenge is a dish best served cold, Dean thought. Not only had she made her first blunder, but she was a person who was full of pride. This would damage her ego, badly. Dean snickered for a mere moment, before acting all serious again. He nodded his head in agreement with Morrigan, as he didn't want to be turned into a Toad, like the stories go. He threw the scroll towards her, even though she didn't hit the target in full, she was successful in performing the technique nonetheless.

Description: This is a much greater and focused version of the (Ototon: Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Echo Assault Skill technique in which the user gathers his sound chakra into his throat as he inhales afterwards exhaling as he screams, yells or roars. The resulting effect is a massive forward shockwave of low frequency, high amplitude sound that levels anything in its path. Unlike its weaker technique, the massive power it carries makes it slightly slower, equal to an average equally ranked Raiton technique. Unlike the unfocused nature of its weaker version, its focused almost like a beam, affecting an area of 50º in front of the user. If used within a water source it receives +20 damage.

"My lips are sealed, of course."

He quickly drank a small bit of his liquor he still had in his bag, as he prepared to move on. He remembered the next technique actually allowed him to create a new one, special to him.

"Now, the next technique is one I actually used as an experiment for creating a completely new technique. Start off by gathering a large amount of Sound chakra in both your hands, which creates a vibration field around them. These resonate at different, low frequency, sound waves. Slam these two hands together, forcing them to resonate with each other, which causes a massive explosion! This pushes back anything that was in front of you, for up to 160 degrees. Once again, it pushes, but causes damage."

Dean then wanted to brag, and show off his technique to Morrigan.

"You see, the technique developed followed a similar principle. I charge the Sound chakra to my feet soles, and cause low frequencies to resonate at low frequencies, which are of course, different. Combining the two, it causes a slight "explosion" which blasts me forward, allowing to cause enhanced damage, in terms of Taijutsu."

Dean then focuses his Sound chakra to his soles of his feet, and blasts towards a tree, kicking right through it.

"Bad ass."

Internally sighing in relief as Dean seemed to agree that he would keep the, minor, failure to himself, and as he drew his liquor from his bag Morrigan made a light-hearted snide remark to herself, "Hopefully that is an ample quantity of liquor to kill enough braincells to make him forget that..." As Dean went on to explain the next technique, Morrigan began to notice a pattern developing, that these Sound Release Jutsu only affected specific areas, specifically in degree's, around the user. 360° for the omnidirectional Scream of Despair Skill, 160° for this "clapping" technique, 50° for the A-Rank Greater Echo Assault Skill and so on. This was obviously the result of how the Jutsu were performed and the inner machinations that are formed at the initial stages of these Jutsu, yet Morrigan couldn't help if there was any other reasons behind such specific degree's... She zoned out momentarily, lost in thought, until she was snapped out of this by Dean's somewhat boastful presentation of a Jutsu of his own creation.

"My, that was impressive. The way you blasted yourself through the air with little effort, one could say you gave yourself airs, ha. Joking aside, you must be rather proud of this Technique of yours, to give me such a clear demonstration of it's capabilities. I wonder, is this meant to inspire me, or instil a sense of fear? Nonetheless, I have a Technique to execute flawlessly, and without delay..."

Morrigan then began by gathering Chakra in her hands, around her palms, before changing the nature of this Chakra to Sound Release Chakra. She then infused both hands with Sound waves with identical low frequencies, before channelling the Chakra to generate the "vibration fields". Morrigan then slammed both of her hands together, however nothing happened. She could have sworn someone added a fart sfx upon the moment her hands made to contact, but failed to produce anything. Looking up at Dean, a solitary sweat drop was produced on her forehead, before she realized that she should have paid more attention to Dean's explanation.

"Apologies. It seems as though I forgot to create non-identical low frequency sound waves... As a result, the Jutsu was performed incorrectly, and thus failed. It was an amateur mistake, and one I shall not replicate."

True to her word, Morrigan retraced her steps, starting by gathering Sound Release Chakra in her palms, then creating low frequency sound waves, before altering the sound waves in her off-hand, and then finally generating the vibrations fields surrounding her hands, before slamming them together. As the two hands connected, the alternate frequencies of the sound waves that the palms were producing created an explosive wave through a form of resonance, causing a great deal of force to be produced as a result. The sound waves generated proceeded outwards from Morrigan's position, travelling a decent distance before finally dissipating. Relieved that she performed the technique correctly, Morrigan audibly made a few notes about the technique.

"So if the frequencies are identical there is no conflicting vibrations, thus no resonance is achieved and the Technique fails... Besides that, it's pretty much the same as the Scream of Despair. Though I do believe the Scream of Despair Skill is more handy in general, since this technique seems to have more range, at the cost of not covering the user's blind spot('s), and has a higher Rank with more Damage, I can see the benefits to having this Jutsu in some situations."

 

[Detective L]

"It was for inspiration, of course."

Dean said, as he burst out laughing. Though he perhaps did it because he wanted to boast. Just a small bit. He wanted to show her the mechanics behind the technique as well, and after her failed attempt, she seemed to grasp the concept with ease. Ransacking through the small bag, Dean pulled out a scroll and threw it to her, the technique she just learned. Always handy to read on them afterwards. They were slow but surely coming closer to the end, where the techniques would cause quite some damage, but he had a plan for that.

"Now, we have completed a many techniques. There remains only a few, but the closer we get, the more destructive these techniques become. The next one requires some fluid motion, in this case, running, which makes it a bit more practical then the previous one."

Dean summons forth a clone that wears a track suit.

"See this clone? He just insulted your clothing, and he's going to run. Using the new technique, you'll be able to catch him with ease. This next Sound technique, is initiated and maintained through running. You will focus your Sound chakra to your feet, as you run. This will release low frequency waves of Sound, that travels through the ground with immense speed (remember the science part of Sound traveling faster through more compact materials? Here's a good example). These waves impact the opponent repeatedly, as you run, vibrating through their body and causing immense pain. The closer you get, the more pain moves through the opponent's body, in wave like motions. However, the opponent can easily just severe his contact with the ground, and won't be affected anymore. Its continuous, so you can't use an chakra related techniques with it."

Dean then summons forth a small Box jellyfish, that hovers above ground. Dean leaps up, and sit atop it.

"I'm not taking chances in being affected. That shit hurts. :|"

The clone then starts running, whilst teasing Morrigan's clothes, and style.
