[Raiton] Souji-senpai teaches me the ways of lightning

Souji Seta ("The Fool" in my sig) enters the training grounds, unknown to Jugram, out of his field of vision. Rubbing his hands together, he touches Jugram on the shoulder from behind, giving him a small shock with lightning chakra.
"Yo! Sorry to keep you waiting, I'm Souji 'Hyuuga' Seta of Konoha, and I'll be your lightning senpai. Let's have an experience that'll 'shock' both of us, whaddya say?"
Wow, bad jokes. Had he really stooped this low? Or had he finally gone crazy?
"Anyway... why don't you give me a little introduction to yourself? You seem like a pretty fancy guy, well-dressed and all."
He seemed friendly, outgoing, and approachable.

Wow, bad jokes. Had he really stooped this low? Or had he finally gone crazy?
"Anyway... why don't you give me a little introduction to yourself? You seem like a pretty fancy guy, well-dressed and all."
He seemed friendly, outgoing, and approachable.
Immediately after experiencing the small electric shock Jugram's hair gains a static appearance to it. His luscious loreal model hair, ruined by the likes of a Hyuuga. During this Jugram also shouted.
"ISHIDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
After the horrible experience, Jugram turned around. He ran his hand through his slick loreal model hair and regained his calm composure. Souji's first statement was lost on him as he was in too busy worrying about his loreal model hair. However he heard his request for an introduction.

Souji couldn't help but suppress a snorted laugh as he watched Jugram's melodrama. He cleared his throat after his student's introduction and tried to compose himself.
"That's an interesting ideal, Jugram. You'll have to explain that to me a little more as we go along this training session."

After hearing his senpai's question Jugram briefly looked toward the sky. He took a breath and began...
Where to begin....Senpai, I shall begin with shinobi. However each are certainly extremely closely related to each other and it is difficult to describe one without the other two. The most basic answer to what shinobi are is that they are the tools and the military power of each nation. Most shinobi belong to hidden villages, such as the Leaf or the Cloud. The shinobi of these villages will perform various missions to benefit their village and nation and keep the peace. These missions can but are not limited to assassinations, sabotage, and reconnaissance. Some shinobi are not loyal to their village however. They are marked as rouge ninja. An example of this would be the Akatsuki. Many famous figures however have also stated that Shinobi are more than just tools. One such individual would be Hashirama Senju, hailed as the legendary god of Shinobi and the first Hokage. I am sure you are very familiar with him. He believed Shinobi are those who endure to achieve their dreams and goals.
Shinobi are most famously known for the manipulation and use of chakra. Shinobi use chakra as their primary weapon, along with ninja tools. Chakra is considered the most basic form of physical energy. It is present in all life . It can be molded and channeled into techniques. Some of the most common uses of this channeling and molding would be the basic five elemental transformations: Doton, Fuuton, Katon, Raiton, and Suiton. Each has strengths and weaknesses to each other and they are all interrelated. They can even be combined into advanced elemental transformations, such as Wood Release. During my time in Konoha, my friendship with the police force brought me much knowledge including some scattered knowledge about the legendary Sage of the Six Paths, his mother, and the origins of Chakra. My understanding of it thus far is that Chakra originated from the Ten-Tails, the primordial entity of Chakra. However the Sage of the Six Paths's mother ate fruit from his true form and became the first being to use chakra. Ever since Shinobi have used chakra as the basis of their most common trademark weapons.
Ninjutsu itself is specifically the molding of chakra into weapons. Ninjutsu is one of three subcategories of Jutsu in our world. The other two are Taijutsu and Genjutsu. Genjutsu is of the illusionary arts. The effects it causes are not physical, they are mental. Ninjutsu effects are all physical and very real. Molding one's chakra into one of the five basic elemental transformations will cause very real physical damage to an enemy. Ninjutsu can also go beyond the five basic transformations and be used to deceptively transform the user into other objects or evade attacks by replacing themselves with a nearby object. Ninjutsu can also be used for medical purposes to heal and restore the body. And as I said earlier it can also be used to create advanced nature transformations to create more complex attacks with stronger potency or different strengths and weaknesses. Ninjutsu used in conjunction with taijutsu creates nintaijutsu - such as the lightning armor of the Raikage.
The three of these combined create a large portion of the foundation for our world and also create the problems that it faces today. Much of the pain and suffering we face is caused by the missions Shinobi undertake to better their village. Without one of these three basic foundations our world would be much different. Without Chakra, Shinobi would have no ninjutsu to use as their weapons. Souji simply listened to Jugram's answer, his mouth subconsciously slightly agape.
Oi, oi... is this guy really a new shinobi? he thought to himself. But then again, he was secretly relieved; shinobi with a solid foundation were often destined for greatness. Call it intuition, but he could see some of that in Jugram. Plus, that hair though... it shone with its pure white and flowing goodness, in comparison to Souji's shorter grey hair.
"I... I honestly have nothing to add. Like, that was almost overkill. HA!" he chuckled.
"You already covered most of the concepts, but let's focus now on the element you desire; Raiton. Lightning. What is lightning, in the context of our world? How is it shaped, formed? What are some of its unique properties? Famous users? You know... basically everything you've got. I'll add it my own insights afterward."

"Of course senpai. I'm not here to just gain a massive arsenal of jutsu to blow other people up with in a linear, nondescript style."
Jugram smoothed out his loreal model hair once again to make sure his loreal model hair didn't block his eye sight from his senpai. He knew his loreal model hair would win him many battles in the future.
"Senpai, lightning is one of the five basic elemental transformations alongside wind, fire, earth, and water. Similar to fire it has extremely high destructive capabilities. In fact the energy in lightning is even higher than it is in fire. However most lightning jutsu will revolve around precision, instead of wide scale destruction like fire. One forms lightning by increasing the frequency of their chakra. This gives it extremely quick movement and damage ability when used as a piercing weapon. One very advantageous and unique property about lightning is that when a direct hit is landed on an enemy the lightning will actually cause a paralysis on them that can range from minor numbness on the wound to extreme full body paralysis leaving them very open for a counterattack. Lightning itself is weak to wind as wind is a natural insulator of lightning. Wind jutsu of equal rank to a lightning jutsu will not only cancel out the lightning but continue to proceed toward you as a slightly weaker jutsu. Lightning is naturally stronger than earth as lightning can travel quickly in the earth and break it apart.
Most lightning users come from Kumogakure - the Village Hidden in Clouds. The most famous users I can quickly recall would be the Third and Fourth Raikages - both famed for their use of lightning armor and enhancing their body parts with lightning to act as a piercing blade. Darui of Kumogakure is also famous for his use of Storm Release - a combination of lightning and water.
Lightning can be used in conjunction with water. If an opponent creates a source of water and is still connected to it or is expelling a stream of water one can release a lightning attack into it sending the lightning to their opponent through the water and causing damage and paralysis. It can also be used in conjunction with one's own attacks. I could create a water clone for example and have the water clone use a water release technique that I could combine with my own raiton - enhancing the strength of it greatly."
Watching as Jugram monologued, Souji was simply colored impressed. Was it the hair? ... yeah, no. It was the incredible basis of knowledge he had. This only confirmed his intuition; Jugram was no ordinary shinobi.
"If I didn't know any better, I would have suspected you're some sensei in disguise." he said jokingly.
"Alright, you covered most of the theory correctly. Yes, lightning is fast, direct, and powerful. Its nature makes it hard to avoid, but at the same time, most Raiton jutsus are relatively one-dimensional, often traveling as linear bolts or conspicuous attacks. This makes it easy for more experienced shinobi to counter and stagger their enemy. And yes, the interaction between water and lightning is an interesting one we'll exploit as we learn more techniques. There are other aspects we'll cover later, but first..."
Souji hands Jugram a small square piece of chakra paper he'd been fiddling with.
"That's chakra paper... yes, we're going to do the chakra paper exercise, to confirm your affinity for Raiton and the ability to manifest lightning."
"You've told me about the properties of lightning, but now, I want you to visualize its physical properties and allow your chakra to take a form SIMILAR to lightning, creating Raiton chakra as a result. You can even delve into the more philosophical and abstract concepts regarding lightning... symbolism, its capacity for destruction... basically, apply everything you've told me and your own experiences to bring forth a clear image of what Raiton is."
"Channel your-hopefully Raiton- chakra through the paper, and it should respond accordingly, wrinkling up."
"Not too difficult, right? Although it may take some time, or a moment, depending on how talented you really are."
Souji sat on top of one of the tree stumps in the grounds while waiting for the moment of truth.

The two most basic components of chakra had to be used in conjunction for any chakra manipulation to work. Once this was done Jugram began visualizing the nature of lightning. Lightning was fast. It was decisive and precise. It is the fastest of all the five basic transformations. It gave Jugram a feeling of speed and power. The ability strike in faster than a heartbeat with precision more sharp than the kunais in his pouch and the sword under his cloak. The power could cause large scale destructive or precise strikes.
With this feeling of precision and power Jugram began to mold his raw chakra into raiton chakra through nature manipulation. He kept those feelings of speed and power in mind. Soon enough his chakra vibrations and frequency began to increase allowing him to create raiton chakra. Once complete Jugram began to will his chakra down into his arm through his chakra vessels. It moved swift and quickly and did not waste any time in his vessels. Finally when it reached his hand he released it through his tenketsu into the paper. Jugram opened his eyes. Sure enough the paper had begun to wrinkle and crumple due to his raiton chakra.

Watching as Jugram did as expected, Souji could acknowledge his student's immense concentration. From the corner of his eye, the gentle breeze made that hair sway, giving an almost regal aura that couldn't be described...

"Excellent. Sound in both theory and practice. I don't feel the need to lecture you further on shape and nature manipulation... you've proven proficient enough. Now, the moment we've all been waiting for. TECHNIQUES!"
Souji pulled out five clay discs from his equipment bag, and stood beside Jugram.
"The D-ranks are relatively simple, so we'll simple perform them. However, I want you to be detailed, much like in your thoughts for the chakra paper exercise."
"Our first ever Raiton technique will have you manipulating and gathering your raiton chakra in your hands, and applying shape manipulation to form small lightning bolts that can attack your targets. Fast, simple, and easy to perform."
"Now, what I'm going to do is throw these clay discs through the air like discuses. Shoot them down with lightning bolts, one of the time. Hope your accuracy is good!"
whoosh. The first disc was released.
whoosh. There went the second one, a little behind the first.
The other three were thrown in succession with good timing and precision.

Emperor Palpatine Jugram focused his force energy raw chakra. Once again using his nature manipulation he reminded himself of the strong and precise nature that raiton was. Soon his raiton chakra was created. He sent it down into both of his arms and once it reached his hands he released it through his tenketsu. Using shape manipulation he formed it into a bolt in both hands and using his chakra fired it with great speed at the first disc with his right hand. Using his let hand he unleashed a second bolt at the second disc while at the same time forming another bolt with his right hand and firing it at the third. And then the fourth. And so on.
The hair probably added 10 to awesomeness. Souji needed something like that. If only... 
"Good.... goood.... let the Raiton flow through you. And your accuracy is spot on."
"The next D-rank will have you concentrating your Raiton chakra on either hand of yours, and then slamming it on the ground. This will release an electrical surge that travels to your target's base that's connected to the ground, and will give them a small, paralyzing shock."
"Try it on me. If I die, that's on you." he said, smirking and crossing his arms.
"Good.... goood.... let the Raiton flow through you. And your accuracy is spot on."

With that out of the way he could let his senpai rest easy without the fear of death. Jugram once again concentrated on molding his spiritual and physical energies together. This time it became faster as he was getting used to the sensation and focus required to create his chakra. With that done he increased the frequency to quickly create raiton chakra. After this the raiton chakra began to move up his chakra vessels in his arms and then finally reached his left hand. Jugram slammed his hand onto the ground and released the chakra. The surge went directly toward his senpai. It was very quick as raiton can move easily through earth since it has an elemental advantage.
Upon reached Souji it shocked him and made his grey hair stand straight.

Souji felt the sensation of a lightning surge course through his body, it was... shocking, for lack of a better term. It wasn't enough to kill stronger shinobi, but it nevertheless almost "woke" Souji up.

Release your raiton chakra that's been molded into bolts as you swing your arm, releasing a wave of lightning bolts at your opponent. Nothing excessively complicated. Jugram focused his raition chakra on his left palm again. This time he brought his arm out in front of him and aimed it at the tree that his senpai directed him to. With a short and simple waving motion Jugram released the chakra from his hand. Sure enough a wave of lightning was launched from his hand to the tree. The lightning moved quickly from his palm to the tree and upon impact left some minor burn marks. Had that been a human they would have felt minor paralysis/numbness on the affected areas.
"And with that, we're done with the D-ranks. Excited yet?" Souji chuckled.
"From here on out, I want you to perform techniques as I tell them to you, but I also want your opinions on the techniques: the usual stuff, advantages, disadvantages, counters, yada yada yada... you don't need to format it or write an essay. It's basically like a conductor. And it adds extra damage, which is always a plus."

Jugram began to initially focus his suiton chakra and wove the Rat → Dog → Ox hand seals. Using this he formed a whip of water in his hands. He quickly wrapped the whip around his target boulder. Soon after he focused his raiton chakra in his hands and unleashed the a wave of electricity that broke apart the small rock.
"Well crazy senpai, the advantages to this technique are simple. The jutsu alone is a fast raiton jutsu that can be used alone or even in conjunction with many suiton jutsu, such as the water whip I just formed. This increases the damage and gives it a paralysis effect ranging from numbness to extreme full body paralysis.
The disadvantage to this is that without a water conductor the technique only has a short range. So it would make it good in melee combat. However a suiton can easily compensate for this.
For a combination I could use Suishoha to create a large cascading water torrent and focus my raiton through it. This would give me a large range of damage for the raiton/suiton combination. Or I could do as I did above and focus the chakra through the whip.
This jutsu can also destroy up to B-Rank doton techniques within reason of size and shape."

By channeling your Raiton chakra through your arm and collecting it there, you'll make your arm glow a pale yellow, and then subsequently shoot out horn-shaped lightning bolts that can hit multiple targets."

"Why would the pale yellow glow be considered a disadvantage, you think?"
Once Jugram does that, Souji presents a simple Katana to him. It's a training sword with a dulled edge but is nevertheless sturdy and reliable.
"Thirdly, this jutsu applies the principles of cloning. Channel your lightning chakra through this training sword. The reason it's blunt is to prove that Raiton can increase the cutting capabilities of weapons you channel it through. By infusing it with Raiton, it becomes sharper and stronger. The cool part here is that you then use your chakra to levitate the sword in front of you, making it spin rapidly. Clone the swords to make two extra copies of them, three in total. These three swords can be controlled by hand gestures, making them hard to avoid."
"This presents a very interesting situation: jutsus that you must maintain with a constant chakra stream, versus jutsus that you can 'spray and pray'. If you understand what I mean, I want you to make the distinction between the two, and how you'd use each one different in battle. But before that..."
Souji sets up some watermelons in front of Jugram.

For the final jutsu, Souji creates a Shadow Clone that stands pretty close to Jugram; short range, to be exact.
"Manipulate your Raiton chakra into your dominant hand. This creates electrical bolts that'll surround your arm, and by slamming it on the ground, the bolts will discharge from your hand into the ground, creating an area-of-effect jutsu that reaches around you up to 5 meters, or short range."

"Well for this first jutsu unfortunately it is extremely situational as it relies exclusively on a cliff. And even more so you have to be on the top of that cliff while your opponent is below. Not often do you see terrains as such with that exact situation. But if they do happen, then hey might as well use this technique to say you used it like once in your life time (;-

The disadvantage to this technique is of course its location.
To be honest I just don't like this jutsu very much Souji-senpai. It is far too location based for me.

Well the glow would be considered a disadvantage because it could easily and quickly give away what jutsu it is since it is such a recognizable feature. There are advantages to it though. Since it is lightning it can be quickly used to release multiple blasts to kill off clones in a hurry

He then used his shape manipulation to cause the sword to float in front of him and clone itself into two more copies - each with equal cutting power. Then the swords went forward with Jugram's hand gesture and sliced open the succulent, juicy, red watermelon. He retrieved his sword and enjoyed the shockingly good taste of his prize.
With his mouth full he spoke...."Well Souji senpai the cool first thing about this jutsu is you can also just use it to channel your raiton into your sword and cut rock with it or other incoming projectiles.
The difference between constantly streaming your chakra into and ability and projectile spray and pray is that you will continue to have control over it. Basically as you said with these swords you control their direction. They don't just go off and fly into outer space. They can be manipulated and used to hit openings on your opponent. However there is a weakness to it. One can't use other jutsu while continuously streaming their chakra into the swords."
