Either way I would definitely believe one of them dies just based off of Kishi's way of writing/story-telling and his NEED for surprises. Sasuke is to f*cked up for things to go back to normal. Yes anything can happen with Kishi as we all know but I just don't see any outcome AS OF RIGHT NOW in which Sasuke lives and everything is back to normal. My reasoning lies in something that you said that I agree with but wouldn't make the same correlation you did. Itachi definitely has the most influence over Sasuke but I don't think his Spiral of Darkness was indirectly or directly anything with Itachi and/or happened way before he learned the truth about Itachi. Sasuke's darkness came from Orochimaru being his ticket to gaining so much power so quickly which I believe led to his Spiral into Darkness. If someone else was able to do that, I think Sasuke is still the same person (emo) but not Dark/Evil. Sasuke knew Oro was the only one capable of getting him to where he is now in terms of POWER so what happened to him is like what happens to so many others trying to seek that much power that quickly: 99.9% of the time they become evil and blinded by their goal. Then Tobi comes along (pretty much the same type of influence on Sasuke as Oro was) and twists not only Itachi's words/what he wanted and had sacrificed for Sasuke but Sasuke's mind as well into believing it. All in all, I think Sasuke has too much of a TWISTED/F*CKED UP mind to ever becoming a friend of Naruto's or returning to Konoha because he has too much pride and is blinded by power to the point where he would never accept Naruto beating him (and allowing him to live). I guess the best way to put it is since Sasuke's reason for living has been completed (Vengeance against Itachi), the thing holding the MOST influence over him/his emotions is his HIMSELF because he is so blinded by POWER and PRIDE and being an UCHIHA and all that other great stuff.



Normally, I would agree with this 100000%. The only problem is Kishi is the ultimate troll and he is so inspired by DBZ that I think one of them can technically "die" but will end up still being "there" as an influence. (If that doesn't make sense think about Goku dead but helping Gohan fight/kill Cell).

I feel like one of them are going to die but its going to be extremely lame. For example, Naruto ends up dying but Sasuke realizes he just killed the only other person that loves him in the Narutoverse and everyone accepts him back and he lives out Naruto's dream (cue corny sad song here). As much as I want to say that Naruto is going to end like EVERY OTHER Good VS. Evil story, I just don't see Kishi ending it like that. It will definitely end on some corny shiznit but its going to be something like I wrote above or Sasuke and Naruto beat Tobi and/or/+ Madara together but one of them takes the final blow for the other and that person becomes Hokage and lives out Naruto's dream (cue corny sad song here).

Either way I would definitely bet that:

1 - Naruto's dream of becoming Hokage comes true by him or Sasuke

2 - One of them dies (most likely Sasuke but if Kishi feels like super-trolling then Naruto)

Why would Kishi give Naruto this much character development just to kill him in the end? The name is NARUTO for a reason. I dont think the main character would die before completing his goal.

Like I said in my post/top half: I DON'T THINK Naruto will be the one to die, I was just giving some scenarios that I would bet on happening based off of Kishi's writing THUS FAR. I don't even think there is an "end" yet in Kishi's mind and my reply was based off his way of story-telling/writing THUS FAR. He is the biggest troll of them all with his new surprises and ways of things happening week in and week out...things we would have thought impossible based off of common logic THUS FAR then becomes POSSIBLE the very next week.

As far as the rest of your reply, I mean it is kind of a contradiction. Why would Kishi give Naruto this much character development just to kill him in the end? Well first off I don't think it would be "JUST" to kill him in the end, it would be for some morally right ending kind of like how ALL OF THESE MANGA'S/STORIES go. He has given a ton of characters a huuuugeee amount of character development but I'm sure half of them will be dead before the end of Naruto. That is the point of story-telling, especially with Kishi which is what my reply was based off of. He loves surprises and making the illogical/impossible (as far as the Manga goes), logical and possible the very next week. I was merely giving examples on how I believe Naruto would end in that bottom half of my post (and I mean come on, just because it is named after him does not mean he is invincible or immune to plot no jutsu AKA [and/or] making something happen for the sake of selling more books/chapters.)

Once again I put THUS FAR in a couple of times because I was basing it off of his writing style/story-telling and also how ALL (99.999999999%-100%) OF THESE STORIES END. If I were to base it all on my belief and logic, I believe one of them does die and it is Sasuke 9.9 out of 10 times because there is just so many more ways to tell that type of ending/lead up to it, while also not pissing off millions of people (like you said I do believe it is named after him for a reason and if he died a lot of people would be furious but I don't count ANYTHING as impossible when it comes to Kishi). In the end I believe Sasuke is too far gone and not able to be saved. At least I know I would be just as pissed off if things went back to normal as far as Sasuke and Naruto/Konoha are concerned as opposed to Naruto dying because that would just be super, ultra lame and morally way too acceptable (power of friendship, strong bonds never die, brotherhood, blah blah, etc...)

All in all, I believe THUS FAR based off of Kishi's style of writing/story-telling that one of them will die saving the other one's life or in some dramatic fashion because there are a lot of people out there that would still be shocked/surprised if that were to happen while at the same time not being so morally correct and whack.

P.S. - I'm sure we could all name a Manga/Story in which the main character died

Uhhh... I don't think I ever said you couldn't have an opinion or came off that way because that would be completely contradictory to posting on a forum but if that's the way you took anything I said I apologize because I would obviously never condone that or even wish one to think I said that/believe that. I was merely just replying to what you wrote in my own opinion so you kinda lost me there :shrug:

As for their bond, trust me I know how close it is. The fact that Sasuke gives nothing and NO ONE the time of day but when Naruto shows up he stops completely and even still jokes with him is a huuuugeeee statement on Sasuke's part conveying how much Naruto means to him. BUT I still think when it comes to influencing Sasuke and his path/motivation/whatever term or phrase someone wants to use, he is influenced by SOOO MANY THINGS because he is so blind with pride, rage and POWER right now. Naruto is definitely on top of that list, maybe even the top spot, hell the list only contains 3 things really (Itachi, Naruto, outside manipulating forces such as Tobi/Orochimaru, etc...) and I think anything that comes along to give him and/or aid him in some way with gaining more power/pride/uchiha knowledge influences him more than anything because his mind is so twisted right now.
