The PlayStation 3 community is abuzz with anticipation for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception's imminent release on November 1st. And even though Uncharted 3 has gone gold and will be shipped to retailers soon, news is still emerging about the game, this time from the PlayStation Blog. And no, it has nothing to do with the fact that Uncharted 3 will require the PSN Pass first introduced with Resistance 3.
A program called The Fortune Hunters' Club is the news in question, a DLC-centric program that will give hardcore Uncharted 3 fans a discount by buying into the experience early. For $24.99, gamers will gain access to seven multiplayer packs when they are released (four map packs and three character skin packs), and that $24.99 will preemptively pay for all of them.
According to Sony, the seven DLC packs will run on the PlayStation Store for over $45.00 combined when they are individually released over the coming months. This program thus provides those who buy in with a 45% savings. However, since it's unknown what the specific contents of these map and character skin packs will be, it remains to be seen who will buy into a program like this. However, it's already been confirmed that Uncharted 3 won't have single-player DLC.
