This cover belonged to the season where Konoha was attacked by the alliance of Oro and Sunagakure. It was when Hiruzen successfully defended Konoha against his former mentors and student.


That wasn't the only battlefront in this invasion though.


There was another battle that took place in the forest of death, and some would say that this battle was on equal grounds of importance as the first. After all, it involved the Jinchuuriki of the Sand and the Ichibi Shukaku.





What I want to bring to light here is the fact that you don't have to be elected Hokage by a group of feudal lords and elders in order to be one. How Naruto has always been the true Hokage of Konoha ever since his battle with Gaara.

How about the fact that Hiruzen has taken a side seat and Naruto is sitting in the main chair with the Kage Hat leaninng against it.


How about the colors of the Kage Hat?

They aren't white and red like they normally. No, they are Naruto's colors! Black and Orange, and I know Naruto doesn't replace the blue with black until Shippuden but you know Kishi and his foreshadowing skills.

What I'm trying to say is Naruto has always the been the true Hokage of Konoha, everyone else was just filling in until he was old enough to officially be one.

Naruto is sitting IN the Hokage chair(the chair has the Hokage symbols on it too) with the Kage hat IN HIS COLORS! What more do you expect? Stop being so simple minded.

in volume 1 of the manga there is also a cover page that shows naruto on a toad sakura on a slug and sasuke on a hawk

Another interesting fact is the battle between Sasuke and Naruto was parallel to the one between Hashirama and Madara. Both ended with one at the other's feet, only it was Sasuke and Hashirama who had won and Naruto and Madara who had lost.

How I see it is, Naruto keeps saying he will make a difference. Change the world. He's chosen. By defeating Sasuke and becoming Hokage he would break the pattern of history repeating. If Sasuke won and became Hokage it could lead to another war for the future generations.

It's one way of looking at it, as there has been so much foreshadowing since the beginning and only some pieces are finally clicking into place in the later chapters.

The other way of looking at is, Sasuke is meant to win, bringing in a new era where the first Uchiha ever has become Hokage. This would end the prejudice against them and drastically change the future.

Extremely plausible.
Kishi also foreshadowed the second coming of sanin trio way back in part 1 as well. Before tsunade was even introduced.

Same goes for naruto's lienage to the 4th hokage.
