Something disappointing abt the new chapter - about Sasuke and Naruto (Chapter 627)

Hey guys, this is my first time posting on Narutobase so tell me if I'm doing anything wrong ^^

I just found it really strange that Naruto's words had absolutely NO IMPACT on Sasuke's decision-making process. He made the decision solely based on Hashirama's talk no jutsu and Itachi's last words. Hell, Sasuke's decision to resurrect the hokages were all because of Itachi's words.

Don't get me wrong, I really loved the new chapter, and I think most people were waiting for Sasuke to make that decision. But isn't it really disappointing that after all the drama about Naruto "saving Sasuke" and "bringing him back", it was just completely ineffectual?

I mean, what about Itachi's "I entrust Sasuke to you" speech??
And Naruto's promise to bear all of Sasuke's hatred (and DIE with him)? All the freaking drama and tension?
And the numerous parallels drawn between Naruto and Sasuke, how one is light and one is trapped in the dark, how one values love while one seeks brute power, blahblahblah, how they are fated to play those roles in the cycle of repeating history, etc. etc.

In my opinion it wasn't purely just to build Naruto's character. I was so sure that it would be Naruto changing Sasuke's opinion, as unoriginal as it sounds.

What do you guys think? Am I the only one who feels this way?

Maybe Naruto will change something else about Sasuke. All this foreshadowing and chasing after Sasuke (which was the entire Shippuden) couldn't have been for nothing. Maybe he'll change Sasuke's outlook on how "bonds make you weak" thing, I don't know. I really hope Kishimoto resolves all the tension in the coming chapters, but it was personally disappointing for me to see that Naruto had been running around for 300+ chapters claiming that he understands Sasuke and will bring him back for nothing... How stupid would he feel when he sees Sasuke in the battlefield? xD

and that makes sense, although i dont know if you know or have followed the threads prior to creating an account, but there was a theory about naruto and sasuke, it had alot to do with yin and yang and how sasuke and naruto were bound to team up in the end, it made alot of sense, i wish i could find it.

All Sasuke decided to do so far was to help aid the alliance to save the village that his brother gave his life to. He didn't say he was going to become a ninja of that village again and stay, at least not yet. He hasn't made a total 360 yet. People keep forgetting this. Naruto will still give Sasuke his 2 cents when Sasuke goes "Welp, I helped and the village is safe again. See ya whenever." No no no, Naruto will do anything to keep him there, which is when we will see the fight. If Naruto loses, Sasuke gets to go, if he wins, he has to stay and be under Naruto, if it's a draw he stays and they both become the hokage or w/e title they will get.

while thats true, his words were "i wont let itachis wishes and the village go to waste".

that can mean a few things, but ive seen some translate it to sasuke trying to take over the village rather than destroy it, however sasukes main reasoning behind becoming "evil" was his revenge, as well as the fact that he wanted answers.

hes never really been the tyrant type, place people under his foot as they do his bidding.

Actually Sasuke did remember the part where Itachi was talking about Nakama esp Naruto. So Sasuke knew that Itachi shared Naruto's will.

Naruto DID impact Sasuke!! People keep saying this; if you look at Sasuke's face expression etc you can see that it is hitting a chord with Sasuke.. Multiple times. The same for Itachi's words. In my opinion of course. Sasuke just kept up his front, doesn't mean it wasn't hitting him in emotionally. He thinks about it after too, sitting at the VoTE which to me shows it's impacted him. Imo.

EDIT: Thus why it didn't take much for Hashirama's words to change him.

well now that sasuke doesn't want to destroy the village but protect it, can he still consider himself the avenger he started out as? like the second hokage said the uchiha clans true power comes from love not hate. maybe this was all done to show that as well as show sasuke as the end to the cycle of hatred that curses his clan?

Naruto did affect him and so did Itachi, but Hashirama was the breaking point.

The problem is when Naruto tried to talk to him, Sasuke was blind with rage and had been lied to so much! When Sasuke saw Itachi again, he calmed down a bit and wanted answers, finally he met the Konoha founder who was able to tell him the whole truth and with no lies and only facts he was able to accept Itachi's words (which were also Naruto's) and protect the place his brother loved more than life.

The speech that Naruto and Sasuke said to each other at the kage summit is now IRRELEVANT and the build of Naruto vs Sasuke during the war is now pointless. I do not see how Madara vs Naruto, Sasukes group and 4 hokages is going to work, especially if Obito turn good to which was foreshadow. I honestly do not know....
