Well JAMC, I agree with you on the sword/arrow and shield/bow concept, but i would have to disagree with pretty much everything else. However on the topic of the regalia as Susano'o's earings and naruto's necklace, rather as a connection of the gift itachi gave, I believe its more of a connection of both to the Sage of the six paths. That rikudo mode and Susano'o original are adaptations of long lost techniques from So6P.
