i was actually thinking about this but never had time to post my theory, but i believe tobi is naruto from the future, now as to how well it would explain the stuff that couldnt be explained but comlicate the stuff that is explained, my guess is that in the future naruto was treated bad and everything and no one cared for him, he made the promise to sakura to bring sasuke back but failed so many times at it and eventually sakura stopped caring for him as well leaveing him alone forever, then naruto lives with the pain a guilt of failing sakura and sasuke attacks the village to avenge uchiha and naruto meets him in battle but sasuke uses his time maipulation of his sharingan and sends naruto years in the past to before the fight at kannabi bridge where at this point naruto was so badly hurt psycologically he just didnt care no more so he died his hair black and took the identity as tobi, now some years later naruto came across an elderly madara and they talked madara explained his plan and naruto not caring anymore proposed to help madara achieve this plan now at this point keep in mind that in the future kakashi talked about the obito death at kannabi bridge and it was comming to past, naruto remembered kakashi's abilities with his sharingan he got from obito and went to go get obitos other eye and for years trained with it before he he fought the fourth hokage and since naruto didnt care about living he didnt care if he killed himself in the past or his parents, he wanted the nine tails and he had nine tails and could have just left with it to complete his and madaras plan but because of his hatred and pain that built up towards the leaf from his suffering in the future he attacked it with kurama but the fourth beat him and he retreated knowing he couldnt beat his dad and minato sealed kurama in naruto changing the future now at this point you would think well if thats the case then tobi should have vanished but not really because it would go from being the future to being a alternate reality right and kishi likes dragon ball so think about trunks said about the future and him not disappering due to the changes in the past and apply it to naruto it makes sense right thats why tobi knows so much about kakashi and what naruto was intrusted with he has all of narutos memories as they progress but it doesnt change what he can do ability wise because the future that tobi is from doest exist anymore, its a alternate world at this point and in that alternate world naruto didnt have kurama or learnd rasengan he was a regular shinobi and cant learn what this naruto learns this makes alot of sense seeing as naruto couldnt keep the promises he made in the alternate world so he wants to rid the world of people like kakashi and what not by using infanate tsukuyomi to control people. i came up with this after analyzing the shit out of kishi/naruto manga/road to ninj, i say road to ninja because i believe kishi is giving us a hint as to who tobi is. for example its a alternate universe/with a evil naruto who wears a mask/who tobi posses like a ghost/ interm you have a evil naruto fron a alternate world who has obitos sharingan and tobis personality/mind....this = my theory
