Ever since he was a child, we all know that Itachi used to poke his forehead in this way; Sasuke never knew the meaning behind it until Itachi’s death.

Itachi himself had a huge impact on Sasuke. He was Sasuke’s drive - the one who was behind Sasuke’s path, downfall, and everything that made Sasuke who he was. Just imagine how much Itachi meant to him.

Then, he realized what the gesture itself meant - love.

I don't get how could Itachi put Amaterasu in Sasuke's eye (even Sasuke himself wasn't aware :elmo: And Sasuke didn't have Amaterasu by that time) :elmo:
It's probably the same thing he did to his crow (to put Sasuke under KA) :elmo:
If you think about it ; it's fukcing OP ; He can put any kind of technique in anyone's body without them being aware :sigar:
Itachi solos :win:

When Itachi stated farewell to Sasuke, he used the Japanese term Aishiteru (愛している). It is a way of saying, "I love you." However, it is the most profound form of expressing love in the Japanese language. The term 'ai' is selfless, giving and unconditional love in nature and 'Aishiteru' is its pinnacle; 'Koishiteru' is its romantic equivalent as 'koi' by nature is a selfish, wanting and conditional love.

'Ai' and 'Koi' stand in complete opposition to each other in this regard. Itachi and Kushina are the only two people in the entire manga who use the former. No one ever used the latter and 'Daisuki,' a very common expression of likeness (which can be used for ordinary things like food as well), not love, was used by everyone expressing romantic desire. Thus, those expressions lack depth and sincerity linguistically as well. The author didn't use these terms unintentionally.

Furthermore, the Japanese do not believe in the concept of love beyond death. They rarely, if ever, do as it's such a demanding commitment. The use of 'always' (or any implicature of it) from someone who has perished in the past is a profound assertion. Thus, for Edo Itachi (a corpse) to outright speak of it before Sasuke and Kushina to allude to it as she sat with Naruto in his subconscious mind as a mere piece of her chakra are unimaginably intense expressions of love.

Furthermore, Itachi also ignored KA's command to 'Protect Konoha' repeatedly despite Sasuke consistently telling him that he'd attack and destory Konoha. In fact, he knew about Sasuke's intentions well before Sasuke ran into him: Naruto had informed him of those. Not only that, but Itachi is the only person to whom Sasuke stated that he 'loves him.' The Databook describes Sasuke's adoration of Itachi as 'idolatry.' Not only that, the latest databook confirms that Itachi was manipulated by Danzo through Sasuke: something I stated many times before.

So that forehead poke is backed by a transcendental and spiritual love. Let's not bring that out-of-character BS into this, when Sasuke has never even remotely stated that he even cares about Sakura exclusively, let alone loving her.

It's a gesture of an apology, and could be perused as saying, ''sorry, not now/next time.''

In Sasuke's flashbacks, Itachi never poked Sasuke's forehead except for moments in which he was apologizing for not being able to play with him, and this was always the case.

Sasuke would ask Itachi to teach him shurikenjutsu, and Itachi would stoop down and poke him on the forehead and then say, ''next time.''

Sasuke is also seen poking Sakura's forehead when he's leaving the village in The Last, which is similar to when Itachi would poke Sasuke when he was leaving him for his duties.

Guess that makes more sense than being simply a gesture of love.

It's a technique where a delayed Jutsu is planted into the Mangekyou Sharingan. The manga doesn't say anything specific, but it probably requires some sort of touching. It isn't explicitly stated in the manga, though. Itachi touched Sasuke's forehead because he wanted to touch him as he knew that he was dying and he won't ever get another chance. People who are about to perish do that with their loved ones. It's a very common gesture.

Stop wanting Sasuke to be gay. He does love Sakura, and we'll see that he truly does in the upcoming Boruto episodes.

What? What does romance have anything to do with sexual orientation? Not every person falls down this trap-door. *** has nothing to do with love.
