Over 210,000 people have died in Syria and more than 500,000 in Iraq, yet you don't see people changing their profile picture to the flag of Iraq/Syria. You also don't see anyone being silent for 1 minute for either of these countries. If 9/11 and the Paris attacks deserve a 1 minute silence, then these other war-torn countries deserve 10 minutes of silence.
No, 50 minutes. xd

But forreal, no, be silent on your own time, people got shit to do. :|

Well this was Winston Churchill in 1940's.I do wonder if the mindset has evolved or not
In 1943, some 3 million brown-skinned subjects of the Raj died in the Bengal famine, one of history's worst. Mukerjee delves into official documents and oral accounts of survivors to paint a horrifying portrait of how Churchill, as part of the Western war effort, ordered the diversion of food from starving Indians to already well-supplied British soldiers and stockpiles in Britain and elsewhere in Europe, including Greece and Yugoslavia. And he did so with a churlishness that cannot be excused on grounds of policy: Churchill's only response to a telegram from the government in Delhi about people perishing in the famine was to ask why Gandhi hadn't died yet.

What?

And it's not that people don't care, it's that it's not surprising.

Willful ignorance is the saddest kind.

You're still no better if you don't try to start the conversation. And it's not like this forum is the only medium in the world possible.

Do they know about it? Did you suggest it?
Yeah, we read crimes and work on them on a daily basis(at work).
That was 3 weeks ago when we were shocked that this happened in Turkey, but my chef was like "poor guys and their family".

But a minute in silence? No.
We might have had one if I suggested it, but the fact that I have to is enough to prove that there is a hypocrisy going on.

And I'm an atheist.

You didn't suggest it, making you just as bad as him.

Before talking like a full retard you should maybe inform yourself about my conditions at work,
so you might understand why I do not speak of for someone or something.
A minute in silence is something someone can make on his own, that's what I did for turkey when they were attacked and also when a 3 year old boy was found dead at the beach.

So you didn't suggest the moment of silence so you can get on NB and complain about people at work not suggesting the moment of silence?
#logic

it doesn't matter the fact that less people are actually caring is totally annoying and stupid.
Okay?
Isn't Rike that guy who said that eating your own nut isn't gay?
What would that have to do with this?

because that was over a period of time. Not 1 day.
