Ok, I know this has been suggested before by... Coco I think. But I think we should take it into consideration more, especially with the new changes coming upon NB.

Should leaders have mod powers within Social Groups? Now, before you post or vote! Remember that this is Riku who's making this, and therefore below you shall find several lengthy paragraphs explaining my reasoning. :p

Ok, first off is the pure convinience that goes along with this suggestion. Ok, right now there's only a single regular mod who holsters control within Social Groups (Kaito), the only other people are global moderators and admins. Admins are automatically crossed out as asking them to sticky a thread unless one of GREAT importance or of their own seems almost preposterous. This leaves global moderators and Kaito. I personally hate asking mods for things, as when simply comparing your petty requests to the work that truly is important, it almost seems selfish to ask. This simply allows more convinience (more reasons concerning this stated below) due to the fact that many RP groups, especially those beginning, are constantly updating closed threads or making minute edits (such as bumping up the rank of a member or something) to their groups. Asking a GM seems pointless. Considering that many closed threads are almost consistently in need of update, well... I believe I've said enough on this one.

Next, to add on to the previous paragraph, there's also the factor of time zones. This is probably my worst point lol, but it is existant. I for example am on approximately one hour for the duration that Kaito is on, and as for Rei I'm pretty sure we're on opposite sides of earth, so I find myself constantly finding Hells the only person to ask. Obviously, this would completely diminsh the factor of time zones, as when you're on, you can make whatever changes you wish.

Now, I remember when this was last asked, the final point that pretty much ended the entire discussion was that mods could not ban other mods, and when a person has mod powers in a group, they are technically considered an (unofficial) moderator. HOWEVER, are the global moderators not handling the member management the most? On most occassions of bans, I see them done by global moderators, and even admins many times. It's to my understanding that an infraction for a moderator means a ban, so this could actually LOWER the amount of pointless groups owned by people who are consistently infracted. But I also think that a ban is also a perma ban, for a moderator, however, Versuvio (I apologize for putting you out there... sir O_O) can diminish a perma ban, correct? Note that this entire paragraph is assuming that there can't be seperate settings for moderators in social groups. If there can be seperate settings, then this paragraph need not to be regarded.

Um... darn it, why do I always forget the last few? >.< Whatever, I'll edit this post should I remember. Poll above.

Sorry for the double post. But I forgot to make a poll. xd So unless a mod can come along and make it for me, just post here and I'll tally them up at the end. :|

Awesome. :|

It's not like you'd be doing much if you had social group mod powers.

Sticky a few threads here and there. Close a few threads here and there...

*climbs out of the toilet*
That's what we ask mods to do, because it's simply not right to ask them to do a bunch of the stuff. However, if we had our own mod powers, more than most likely, we'd be doing a lot more. It's like, if you're friend had a baseball bat, you wouldn't play baseball as much as you would if you actually went out and got the bat. :|

that's the point it just gives a break for the mods and makes it easier for them as well as us.
But my point is that that doesn't even seem like a lot of work to do. Then again, I'm not a mod (>_> <_<), so how would I know? :O

Alright alright, I guess I'm for this "leader having mod powers" thing. >_>

Only an Smod can add a poll now unless you want to create a new thread. :p

looking at this thread i'm thinking of some suggestions to get over the problem.

1. Are sMods allowed to infract normal mods?
i) if not then, could we possibly strip of their 'mod' status and then infract them, then give back their status (Admins only)

ii)if yes then w00t no problem.

2. Can we not make the group leaders a special sort of Mod where their ability ranges in their group only?

i) if so w00t w00t

ii) if not have members who are a group mod stripped of their power and banned for breaking the rules, that way people are less likely to mess around then, a little harsh but punishment is necessary for all communities to work.

but yeah whatever you think really

but yeah whatever you think really
its called having permissions for that the group leader can only have so much power, they would deffinatly not have the same kinds of powers of smods.

Well, they have the invisible threads. =/ So I would think that they have more to do. =/ But I don't know either actually lol.
