SO your thoughts on Shinki?

In my opinion his jutsus are really cool . loved them. thoughts?

His power is cool. It's even cooler than Gaara's in my opinion. His character however is not the most interesting to me though.

It's just that he has this unexplained beef with Konoha and with Boruto that he goes on and on about. In the whole most recent episode even, he kept harping about being better than Konoha, better than Boruto, and about the Konoha shinobi being sheltered by Naruto. Yet, he has been given no reason whatsoever thus far to even have this obsession with Konoha and with Boruto. What did Konoha ever do to him? Has he even met anyone from Konoha before these exams?

I think Shinki's character would be better if it were explained that maybe Konoha was responsible for Shinki being an orphan (before he was adopted by Gaara). Something like that would make his character better and more understandable.

For now though, all his character consists of is:
I'm better than Konoha.
I'm better than Boruto.
I must please father.

Maybe he'll be given more/better character in the future.

Edit: Sorry, I totally missed the part where you said not as a character. Oh well. I still gave my opinion about his jutsus as well.

Not going to deny they are pretty cool... but they seem a little dramatic for what they are. If you have a coat of metal sand that can be freely thrown and formed, you could effectively create a scythe edge extending at almost any angle. If it were being honed purely for the purpose of attacking an opponent and defeating them in the shortest time and with the least energy necessary, then it's absurdly formidable.

If I had to identify a plausible vulnerability, it is that because chakra is being used to control the sand to form solid objects and other such things, every attack, block, and deflection using the sand (and even just having it available) is a considerable drain on chakra. Gaara could really make use of this type of ability because of him being a jinchuriki. Shinki... not so much.

I suppose he ultimately falls into a similar category to Konan.
