So why didn't Naruto or Sasuke answer Sarada's question about Sakura?

What is your prediction?

Why a man who doesnt care about his daughter to give a shjt about something like that ?
They directly targeted Sarada when both Strongest characters standing there. Use some logic next time.

They even say that they gonna get Sarada in order to get to Sasuke in the previous chapter... He does care about his daughter, you can see it in his face throughout the chapter when he realizes that its Sarada

It's not her business to know if Sakura is her mother or not?

Uh, Sakura destroyed her house and she doesn't say that in the MS trans.

Sakura was angry that Sarada was acting like a little brat, that would have happened regardless of the topic at hand.

As for translations, I'll wait until VIZ comes out.

She wasn't being a brat. Their relationship is questionable and no she did not curse at Sakura in the raw, iirc.

It felt like they weren't taking her question seriously, Naruto was looking at her like she's out of her mind and Sasuke answered "did something happen?", she then started ranting about Sasuke not being there with them.

It seemed like even Sarada was not serious about that question as she still referred to Sakura as "mama" when Naruto comforted her, the real issue was Sasuke's absence, which was explained in the flashback.

It's probably a mix of both, we still have the missing birth records issue and I don't think it was only because of the mission, so it seems they are hiding something about her birth. It is also bad writing because all off-panel statements say she is Sakura's daughter, and this chapter also implied it, but Kishi probably didn't give us a clear answer because he wants people to keep guessing for a little longer and possibly deal with it more dramatically (Sakura is heading towards them). Or he will keep it like this, and the story will go on with Sakura portrayed as her mother which should be obvious, but this way he gave Karin fans would have something to dream about so they won't get too upset. :lol

I don't know about bad writing or not but it's definitely because of plot. They could have answered her but because of her last question, Sasuke had to respond the way he did which made Sarada upset. If she had stopped to wait for an answer about her mom question then they could have told her it was Sakura. So it's just to build the suspense and keep the problem going. Naruto's face said it all honestly.

Sasuke is top secret. Neither naeuto nor sasuke nor sakura nor anyone supposed to speak about anything related to the mission

Chatting unnecessarily creates confusion and danger

I think they are just trying to rush this manga and therefore don't have proper time to explain anything. Focusing on other stuff...like this new enemy.

Sarada's parentage has nothing to do with the mission.

It's not her business to know if Sakura is her mother or not?

No, i didn't said that. The "it's not her buisness" thing is for the question: "what have you been doing all this time and where you were". The last question she asked. And it's not her buisness because it' classified intel. So for this question, sasuke answering is logic. Rough but logic.

As for the mother question, the thing is so unreal to them that they don't understaind it at first ( even for chouchou). That's why he asked if something happened, because he though something happened for her to start telling such "non-sense" in his poit of view. Then she goes full throttle. It's not because they didn't wanted to answer, they didn't understood what the hell were those questions at first And when he wanted more intel, sarada threw everything in her dad face before asking a new question..

Plus it's not like Sakura is freaking out about Sarada asking these questions.

And Shizune's and Sakura's conversation didn't go along the lines of,

Sakura: "That daughter of mine..." :wesobi:
Shizune: "I think you mean step-daughter." :bdpf:

She'll be a hostage to get Sasuke to do something for them, likely reviving someone with his Rinnegan.[/QUO You hit the nail right on the head. Thats is exactly what i was thinking, as far as is sakura sarada mom, i think the talk between shizue and sakura was a perfect time to make mention of the fact that sarada is not sakura actually child if that was truly the case. That discusssion between shizue and sakura really shut down any karin is sarada mother talk for me. Whatever may be going on i believe sakura is definitly sarade birth mother.

Sarada's parentage has nothing to do with the mission.

Top secret means its top secret with the whole world at stake. Parentage has to step aside. The manga already gave the answer

it's not her buisness since it's a secret mission and a school girl have no right to ask about the mission.

When a kid hasnt met the Dad for 9 years AND the fact that Sasuke didnt even recognize her at first they have a right to know at least the general details because yes meeting her once isnt going to give any secrets

I think you're misunderstanding what I said. The mission has nothing to do with who Sarada's mother is.

One question would lead to another. Kishimoto is trying to show sasuke has to cut the connection and avoid any unnecessary confrontation with his family for the safety of the world
