I don't think so. Honestly at this point, I don't see the purpose of EMS beside restoring light to the user. I mean, yeah you get the ability to use amaterasu, but sasuke didn't have the ems on when he mixed it with his lightning in this movie.

Then susanoo....Madara showed that you don't even need your eyes for susanoo. You just need the double MS just to "open" the door to allow the user to use susanoo.

I don't I guess EMS just strengthen the control of your spiritual energy.

He just put more focus on his rinnegan and covered them in rikudou (rinnegan) chakra.

Its still a mangekyou move regardless of the studios error. Even obito used kamui in 3 tomoe sometimes. But when you really gotta push trust me the ms should be visible.
