Yeah no, pretty much every psychiatric and medical professional disagree. You can recover from and overcome depression through making an effort to pay attention to more positive things and through changes, but it's not as simple as "I'm going to choose to not be depressed." If you just turned off your depression like it had a switch, then you weren't depressed.
