So Sarada needs to have a confirmed tutor akin to Team 7 and the Sanin before it is..

Too late...

What I mean by my title is that Sarada needs to become a disciple of a certain individual and train/learn from them before the gap in NEO team 7 becomes too vast.

Sasuke and Naruto went under the study of Orochi and Jiraiyai earlier then Sakura and thus a head start gap was there for some time.

Later on Sakura reached the Sanin trio gap but both Naruto and Sasuke had already moved on and completed other studies in order to surpass their "dead teachers" (Orochi was presumed dead)

Sasuke became a taka and Naruto started creating his own moves and also taming the 9 tails.

Regardless of their genetic powerups, Sasuke and Naruto made their own moves respectively.

Sasuke with Kirin and Naruto with Rasen Shuriken. There are multiple reasons as to why they were ahead of the game beyond being incarnate/plot, like them both deciding not to become carbon copies of their masters and even deciding to not learn all of their moves and be selective so that they can instead be their own ninja.

But the main reason I'd like to addresses for this thread is TIME.

Having a head start matters, being a person that literally chases after their goal or one that is reactionary leads to one being a leader and the other following along to catch up.

Boruto literally saw Sasuke for the first time and hours later tried to study under him.

Commitment and perseverance.... Sarada has these two traits but the action needs to lead her to go above and beyond and search for a teacher.

In the Boruto anime she apparently goes to night school but for what and if that person is her master is up in the air.

She also learnt some stuff from her mother but if she is her official apprentice and will carry her trade is also up in the air.

Note that Boruto also learnt some stuff from his mother as well so a parent teaching their child some things is fine but isn't an actual master and student scenario until you make it one.

Boruto has an official teacher and Mitsuki currently doesn't but he is programmed with a set of moves so even then he is above and beyond.

Sarada needs to know what style or approach she needs to take, what teacher to study under what moves to take and what to drop and lastly try and innovate and become her own ninja and not just a carbon copy.

Every moment matters and the more Boruto goes to Sasuke when he has free time the more the gap will increase and later become a matter of which it isn't about being rivals but instead just trying to chase after some team mates shadow.

the more she rushes through the Master/student part of her character development the more she will be free to expand beyond and become her own ninja and have her own exclusive moves that are beyond basic genetical or taught abilities

Konohamaru did also. Same as Sasuke somewhat with Fugaku and Itachi. Even Itachi had Shisui as his mentor when he was young.

pretty much

you got to get these things out of the way and as quickly as possible (like getting through university), even more so when your future enemies are aliens and the future is inter galactic

Boruto isn't Naruto.

They're not going to turn into sannins/have the sannin dynamic or anything like that. Just let it go from past generation stuff, they wanna make Boruto different (well, at least according to the staff & creator).

Great thread. I agree.

I've also noticed that one major problem that side characters throughout the series have had, has been the fact that most ninjas just become clones of their clan, village, or parents.

People blame plot, genetics, reincarnation, and bijuu power as the reason why Naruto/Sasuke were so much stronger than everyone else (like K11), but that is only part of the reason.

Just look at K11. They all pretty much solely stuck to clan jutsus, and that's why they all appeared relatively weak. Aside from that one earthen wall during the war, when have we seen Shikamaru use anything other than shadow based jutsus? When has Shino used any elements or anything other than bug jutsus? When has Ino branched away from Yamanaka techniques? For crying out loud, the whole cloud village has laser circus!

Do you see what I mean? Most ninjas just settle for being clones.

The strong ninjas are the ones who branch out and get some versatility. Just look at Sasuke. Even without using dojutsu, Sasuke is still a lightning expert who has evolved chidori to a level where it can be used in many ways for multiple purposes (offensive, defensive, supplementary, etc...).

If you want a non transmigrant example, look at Tobirama. He invented shadow clone jutsu, ftg, and edo tensei. He is also a master at water style.

I only compared the past gen stuff to give people an example

the point of the thread is that procrastination is lethal and one must get things quickly done to eventually move on to new things

that is why it is best to

a) take what you need and not become a carbon copy
b) get through the basics quickly so that you can learn your own thing later own after getting down a building bloc of your specific preferences

all of K11 was literally just copying their clans and didn't go beyond

time is also a key factor.... Tobirama and Orochimaru didn't waste time and use every second to innovate and learn new things

Kakashi at a young age created the lightning blade and even Boruto already has his own rasengan version

there is no time to diddle daddle or you get left behind and instead have to follow a reactionary procedure

I get what you're stating here and I really do agree. I figured Naruto will be her mentor/master at some point.

Every Ninja who aspired to be Hokage eventually trained under the Hokage. Naruto knows the Uchiha and what (Hand how) they do things and could be a great candidate if Sasuke isn't going to do it.

She wants to be Hokage and I'm on board with that. She'd make history and become the first Uchiha Hokage of the Leaf. I also agree her training needn't be sloely from Naruto. She has a high stat in genjutsu from what I heard. I would love to see her train under a genjutsu master and add that to her repertoire.

You are also right that it needs to happen sooner rather than later or the chance will be missed. After 15 of watching the side character and women get left behind, we could use a fresh slate with some actual side character development and not carbon copies of their clans as you mentioned.
