Too late...
What I mean by my title is that Sarada needs to become a disciple of a certain individual and train/learn from them before the gap in NEO team 7 becomes too vast.
Sasuke and Naruto went under the study of Orochi and Jiraiyai earlier then Sakura and thus a head start gap was there for some time.
Later on Sakura reached the Sanin trio gap but both Naruto and Sasuke had already moved on and completed other studies in order to surpass their "dead teachers" (Orochi was presumed dead)
Sasuke became a taka and Naruto started creating his own moves and also taming the 9 tails.
Regardless of their genetic powerups, Sasuke and Naruto made their own moves respectively.
Sasuke with Kirin and Naruto with Rasen Shuriken. There are multiple reasons as to why they were ahead of the game beyond being incarnate/plot, like them both deciding not to become carbon copies of their masters and even deciding to not learn all of their moves and be selective so that they can instead be their own ninja.
But the main reason I'd like to addresses for this thread is TIME.
Having a head start matters, being a person that literally chases after their goal or one that is reactionary leads to one being a leader and the other following along to catch up.
Boruto literally saw Sasuke for the first time and hours later tried to study under him.
Commitment and perseverance.... Sarada has these two traits but the action needs to lead her to go above and beyond and search for a teacher.
In the Boruto anime she apparently goes to night school but for what and if that person is her master is up in the air.
She also learnt some stuff from her mother but if she is her official apprentice and will carry her trade is also up in the air.
Note that Boruto also learnt some stuff from his mother as well so a parent teaching their child some things is fine but isn't an actual master and student scenario until you make it one.
Boruto has an official teacher and Mitsuki currently doesn't but he is programmed with a set of moves so even then he is above and beyond.
Sarada needs to know what style or approach she needs to take, what teacher to study under what moves to take and what to drop and lastly try and innovate and become her own ninja and not just a carbon copy.
Every moment matters and the more Boruto goes to Sasuke when he has free time the more the gap will increase and later become a matter of which it isn't about being rivals but instead just trying to chase after some team mates shadow.
