So Roshi's Magma style was not a KKG, but a Jinchuurinki power....

Maybe you guys are right.... but it puts doubt into whether or not he had the KKG to begin with. If Roshi has any fans, this might hurt his reputation a bit lol.
Narutopedia: "In order to prevent the jinchūriki from turning traitor, it is tradition for the host to be selected from the family of the village's own Kage. It might be that Rōshi somehow was connected with one of the Tsuchikage."

I believe, according to the statement above, it is safe to assume that Roshi had a KKG, since he must be connected to a Tsuchikage (which have shown to have KKG or KKT).

when I saw the 4 tails breathing flames I kinda figured that it was his exclusive ability.

You must be registered for see images

I'd be willing to say that were he still alive roshi could still use it even with the bijuu extracted though.

Gaara was experimented on hence he ended up being the caster of Shukaku's jutsu...
Maybe Roshi was the same or he really inherited it...

But it was never his to begin with...

Roshi's Lava Release is not a KG?

Nature Transformation
By borrowing Son Gokū's power, Rōshi was able to use its Lava Release ninjutsu, created through simultaneous use of fire and earth-based chakra, to create a torrent of lava that can melt almost anything. In the anime, Tobi referred to him as "Rōshi of the Lava Release" (熔遁の老紫, Yōton no Rōshi),[1] further indicating his prowess with it.

oh, so you're right!
That's obviously from the wiki that people edited today. Just because its on the wiki doesn't make it canon, but yes, they are assuming exactly what I'm assuming.

The sand thing again....

The Shukaku didn't actually command sand, he commanded wind, go re-read Naruto vs. Gaara. It was simply ASSUMED that his control of sand was a result of the Biju. In actuality, it was a result of his mother protecting him all this time, confirmed in the war arc.

Why is it "too bad"?

So sick of people acting like Jin's getting their power from Bijuu is some sort of mark against them or makes them not as strong. Jin's get far too little credit for just being able to contain not to mention use bijuu power.

Because if it came solely from the Biju, it takes away a bit of my respect for the character. I was under the impression he commanded the KKG before he was a jin. If he didn't have it, its simply a little disappointing if you ask me.

What the difference though? Either way the power is given to him, not earned.

Isn't it more impressive that he was able to take control of the Bijuu's power than him just being granted it as a birthright?

Meh, two different ways of looking at it. The fact that there are more successful Jinchurrinkis than Magma users makes me feel it can go either way.
