Did DHOH just say Sasuke was holding back in VOTE1? Sasuke was about to kill Naruto but at the last minute Naruto changed the direction of his hand which impaled a lung. Naruto did not believe Sasuke was capable of killing him at that point, it shocked him.

The only reason they did not stalemate was for two reasons:
- Sasuke had to move forward to Orochimaru for plot. No way he was going to lose here, not even if Kurama came out. Sasuke would of 1 shotted with Kishimoto XD
- Naruto aimed for his headband, and Sasuke continued the strike to his chest. If they kept their hands constant it would of ended in a stalemate.

It all depends on how you look at it. Naruto was being fueled with anger and confusion because of how Sasuke changed. He could almost not accept that he would try to kill him, like he was ultimately nothing anymore. That their bond was already cut.

Even though Naruto had the chance to physically strike Sasuke during the final attack. It showed that even with Naruto who was consumed with Kyuubi chakra, still did not want to physically harm Sasuke, through the means of impaling the chest as Sasuke did twice.

When techniques of equal power clash, or in this case these two, they usually cancel each other out. However, here we have the paradox, instead of sending both Naruto/Sasuke flying backwards like the usually clashes do. Their residual mixed chakra creates the scene where the remnants of Rasengan's power strikes Sasuke's headband, and the remnants of the Chidori's power strikes Naruto's chest.

It was Naruto who was not taking the end seriously enough to put Sasuke down.
