So much hate about chapter 668!

It doesn't make sense to begin with! You always say about how side-characters have never their chance for actual developement and when they actually have their chance to shine you react like this?!:nuts:

Today's chapter was actually really touching and it made me think completely differerently about Gai's whole personality. To go to your death with a smile on your face is a really difficult thing. More importantly, to see that his father had such a heroic death trying to protect his son is also really sad. You might say that we have seen this with other characters all over again but the difference is that Gai's father has never been regarded as a strong ninja and quite the contrary he was always been regarded as an idiot, something for which his son fought and was beaten up for. Yet, he went against all the 7 mist swordsmen who were all top-class and all without even thinking even for a sec for his own safety.

Now I know many of you will say scr*w you but it's at times like this that I get sad because a person tries hard to pass some deep messages and teach some values and most of his readers are just too shallow to respect that.

You have to look at the manga as a whole. While flashbacks can test your patience, including them in the manga is much better storytelling. We never knew too much about Guy's past until now, so this is crucial for such a major character.

Can you imagine if the anime never had any flashbacks to let you to know the characters better?

I particullary felt satisfied with today's chapter.

I already respected Gai because of his way of ninja, and I knew him well... because everytime he needed help and he was in a hurry, I was there... he called me, and I jumped against his opponents as a fiery tiger, and hell, it felt very good to be there for him. I was able to push Madara, TWICE, so I can die happy at this rate (Lol).

although i didnt complain, i do have every single volume from viz up to date which i paid for on my ipad.....dont assume that because we read early manga here, that some of us dont actually pay....

Yet you complains about fillers stuff when the fillers were top notch High budget which really improves the series more and serve more justified in the Anime than in the Manga when it should've been in the canon

Regardless, I love this chapter, every characters needs a screen time and development aside from the main characters that everyone is getting tired of seeing Obito and Rin BS and Naruto and Sasuke BF.

Not only I find this flashback necessary, but this strong feeling that touch in the bottom my souls when Gai is going to die and Lee sad moments. I shed my tear in this chapter, not only he had lost Neji but Gai as well.

Because 8 gates is suposed to be one of the most poweful attacks ever and it's important to show how Gai is willing to give up his life while he knows all to well that he's not even going to take down madara with him but rather becoming a stepping stone based on which Madara's loss will come.

I didn't assume that this goes for everyone but I can say with certainty that it's true for the vast majority.

I think flashbacks have been a consistent thing to this manga since the beginning. It is just the way Kishimoto tells things, especially near a character's death. These people complaining about flashbacks in a war who only want action every chapter should just go read Dragonball.

Some people just love to complain. Gai is an important character, and he deserves a flashback chapter if he's going to die.

I really, really hope Kishi doesn't pull some shenanigans to keep Gai alive post-8th Gate Release. His sacrifice is emotionally resonant because he's fully willing to die, even if it just means stalling Madara to protect the people he truly cares about (Lee, TenTen, Kakashi).

I really loved his reply to Minato. "Nobody here wants this to happen..." "That's not true. I want this to happen."

You misunderstood me, I don't complain about fillers in general not do I have specific problems with them. Some limits must be put and don't tell that that filler with a stupid man at the war who was like a tourist was something essential because I'm certain that they could do it way better. My probem with the budget is that it's not in good use while they should it in more important episodes.
