Given the age difference, even if Minato scored the highest and Itachi the second highest, they all are pretty much equal in genius.

Out of all geniuses, Minato was the only one to graduate at relatively older age... So no doubt he topped.

True. While I think they both are in different leagues since they are both two different shinobi in terms of specialties, I might give a slight edge to Minato considering he created some nice shit.

Both are skilled Ninja with OP Techs.

Minato was also known for being able to see a Jutsu just once and knowing how it works from there.

Itachi was also known for exploiting the weakness of any Jutsu.

Both are pretty even in my humble opinion

Minatos succeeded. In minutes he deduced Tobi would act like Madara, and that he was a threat, sealed Kurama in his son so he could save the world from him 20 years in the future and everything worked exactly as he planned. Pure genius.

So Minato > Itachi > Kakashi

look at it in this way...Minato was an orphan whom Jiraiya took under his wing seeing his genius...Itachi was talented but he had the guidance and backing of an entire clan. Also marks don't matter.....Minato evolved in an environment that was full of war and conflict while Itachi was exposed to more of cloak and dagger part of the shinobi world. Personality wise they were much diiferent while Minato was friendly and emotional, Itachi was cold and aloof....their major difference is their personality not their intellect. Itachi was feared because he massacred the Uchiha which we later learnt that he had Obito's help.....Itachi's circumstances make him out to be greater and often ignore his mistakes opposite to Minato's case where his decisions don't cover his flaws. They are almost equal but imo Minato holds the edge. He had limited arsenal that he put to maximum use while Itachi was more versatile.
