I actually liked it quite a bit. Definitely was miles better than "The Last" and also kind of got me excited about Naruto again.

There was some thing that I still wished they did in the movie, but it was still enjoyable.

So here are just both the things I felt were positive and negative about the movie.

Positives

1. Great animation. The fights were superb.

2. New generation is really interesting and likable.

3. Pretty well written.

4. Got to see the new 5 Kage fight.

5. I liked the idea of Boruto being Sasuke's pupil.

6. Mitsuki being Orochimaru's son. Awesome!

7. Epic father/son Rasengan.

Negatives

1. The villain was extremely lame. In the Gaiden Manga, Sasuke said how there was a bigger threat than Kaguya and the movie explains how Momo was the threat due to a translated scroll from Kaguya. He's the reason why she wanted a Zetsu Army. But wow he was weak and lame in every way including design. He even stated that he never trained or anything, but just popping pills. Why was Kaguya afraid of him then?

2. I felt like there was a lack of jutsu in the movie. All we saw were really Rasengan and Shadow Clones. It would have been nice to see something original from the new generation. They even cut out the fight with Mitsuki in the Chunin exams? We have no idea what he's capable of aside for stretching.

3. I didn't like the fact that Naruto didn't use his Six Paths Sage Mode. We still don't officially know whether he has it or not. If he doesn't, it would have been nice to explain why he lost it.

4. I don't like the fact that Sasuke is still missing his arm. I don't think there's really any reason for him not to. He's redeemed himself so him feeling guilty shouldn't be an issue. Also, he's still protecting the village from beings nearly as powerful as Kaguya. Missing an arm only puts one in a disadvantage no matter how skilled you are. At least give him a Susanoo arm like in the game or something.

5. It bugs me that Naruto is still wearing bandages on his hand. It just looks dumb. Even if it were a Zetsu arm, Obito had skin color on his so I don't see why it would be a big deal just to say that it's a more advanced replica arm which just gave him the skin color.

6. I wish Orochimaru had a bigger appearance instead of just the cameo at the end.

7. It would have been nice to see more from the new generation of shinobi, especially the one's from the different villages.

Sasuke has bandages for other reasons and it doesn't matter if you just don't like it. Naruto did use so6p in the movie and he has used it in the last and in the gaiden.

Well how come the color is different and there were no TSB present? It looked just like a Bijuu mode.

Correct translation is a threat that frightened kaguya. He was underwhelming but at least oni momo made up for it. Somewhat.
Naruto still has rsm. He has no sm markings.

Naruto has some form of RSM cause the markings around his eyes are gone. I think what is missing is the other Bijuu's chakras but he has both Kurama.
Well I only stated that I didn't like the fact that he didn't use RSM. I still believe he has it, but he just didn't use it.

There's no way that form was RSM. It looked nothing like it and had no TSB. Unless if I'm missing something crucial, you can't blame me for believing that form he used was only Bijuu Mode.

Naruto did use his RSM. This is his default RSM.

No pigemtation around the eyes which separates it from the standard SM.
Basically its:
  • RSM
  • RSM wt Yin/Kurama and 8 bjuu chakra
  • RSM wt Yin|Yang Kurama.

Remember when Naruto arrived from the Kamui dimension to face Madara? He had RSM as indicated by the lack of eye pigment. But it was a simpler form of RSM that gave him enhanced speed and power but it lacked TSB. What Naruto has in the Boruto movie is what he had when he met JJ Madara but he is in BM, I think he needs the other Bijuu chakra for the other natures to make the TSB.

Maybe because it was never explained......
It was never explained in canon, sure, but not everything has to be spelled out for us. Then there are the crapload of RSM threads we got near the end of 2015, but I guess you didn't read any of them.

Long version: you (and everyone else that doesn't get it) just looks at Naruto's current look, compares it to his War Arc self and thinks that can't be RSM, because it just looks different. The unique way RSM appeared the first time Naruto activated it was because he had the chakra of all 9 Bijuu, resulting in the magatama markings on his back and the different clothing appearance. Naturally, since Naruto only houses Kurama now, his RSM just took the form of his regular BSM, only it's evident he's using Rikudou Senjutsu because of the lack of pigmentation around his eyes, which BSM Naruto did have. And before you say some stuff like: ''well, maybe he mastered his regular Sage Mode to where he doesn't have pigmentation", because that argument has popped up, here's a scan that counters this:

Not to mention the fact that RSM isn't restricted to one look only, seeing as how Naruto was in base RSM in the War Arc and had no cloak or anything else except the crossed eyes without pigmentation.

Simplified: War Arc Naruto's RSM look = with all 9 Biju chakra; Gaiden/Boruto Movie Naruto's RSM look = with chakra from Kurama only.

The fact that is never explained in canon means everyone has a different outlook and there's no real consensus. No matter how you look at it, there's other way to see the same situation. Hence why it's still debated.

But let my make my point clear to you. When I referred to RSM, I meant why doesn't he have the 9 bijuu anymore chakra anymore? He should still have a piece of them since pulling it out entirely would kill him and the Rikudou Senin said Naruto would be a haven for all the Bijuu to come together.

So when I asked why didn't he use RSM. I was asking why he doesn't have the RSM that includes the rest of the Bijuu and TSB?

Because why would he need to enter a mode that grants no benefits? Having the other half of Kurama makes Naruto stronger than having bits of chakra from the other tailed beasts, as all he's missing out on is just the elemental FRS. The TSB aren't tied to the Bijuu chakra, so why he didn't use any I don't know.

Exactly. No explanation was given and we're left in the dark about what's going on in that department. That is what I didn't like.
Thats basically the story of majority of the ending to the series. The time skips usually make the characters stronger yet over here we see them look weaker. Kinda destroys the reason they got these powers in the first place. I mean if this new villian was really someone more threatening than Kaguya. Why was Naruto nerfed?
