These episodes they are from the novels right so it's canon? Or is it not canon cus Kishi himself didn't write it? In Star Wars books and movies are considered canon even if they are not made by the same people or even George Lucas. So are these episodes canon now? Especially since the series has kinda ended whatever comes now doesn't really matter.

It is more or less a question of faith. There are people who only consider the original manga to be "canon". Even though Kishimoto wrote the last two movies, they are not canon since they are not adapted from the original manga.

Personally, I do not differentiate in "canon" and "filler". As long as an episode (or movie, spin-off manga etc.) does not highly (there is an emphasis here, since the manga itself is contradictory at times) contradict a major plot point of the original manga, I consider it all part of Naruto.

Yes they are meant to be canon, all the novels are supposed to be. This isn't SP material. If you want to say since it's not in the same rotation of material since it's not the manga so be it, but a lot of the novels are as good if not better than the manga. I'll acknowledge it

Star Wars movies. Kishimoto is the manga author equivalent of George Lucas, no?

The Force Awakens and the greatest Star Wars ever, Empire Strikes Back barely had Lucas involved in the production at all. Are they suddenly non-canon? No.

Naruto novels, movies and however much of the anime you like is all Naruto even if Kishi isn't involved. Kishi was never the sole creator of the manga. Canon/Non-canon doesn't matter to the creators, it's an audience creation to ruin and invalidate Naruto content for themselves. Never will understand it, more content for us. Crazy exclusivity and biblical praise for the idea of a 'sole author' is a weird anime trend.
