Yes, I saw them, but Madara countered it. Guy was on the ground defeated while Madara was just knocked back and was ready to attack,
So basically, Gai 7th and 8th gate could solo anyone pre-War Arc. Right?

Tsunade (Not counting gates) has the most natural psychical strength and A (Not including gates) is the fastest shinobi
Guy is both rolled up into one.
His stamina in godly thanks to his massive psychical energy and has the ability to fight sharingan users by watching their feet,becoming highly resistant to genjustu.
Did anyone not realize how amazing it is to fight obito close range while he uses kamui ?
Naruto was faster then him at this point during the battle and he still couldn't properly fight obito at close range.
This only further reinforces guys outstanding spatial awareness,reflexes.
There is no absorbing guys techniques.

Gai is an expert at fighting sharingan users, thanks to Kakashi, so even though Itachi's genjutsu is stronger then Kakashi's, he wouldn't be able to hit Gai with that.
So, Gai 7th is WAY stronger and faster then Itachi, so GGWP.

when itachi himself said not to underestimate Might Gai even when he didnt knew about gai's Gates
and even the strongest person in the series says that he underestimated gai if somehow he manages to open 8th gate. and anyone talking about genjustu crap is total dumbass. madara himself is a Legendary Uchiha and you can clearly see he is serious in fight against Gai.
so This is the Madara who destroyed guys like Hashirama, Naruto, Sasugay & minato or to be more accurate he was just playing with them but look he is serious against gai.
if you guys seriously thinks Itachi can beat gai then wow there must be something wrong with people

Note: We have no idea how strong 8th gate will be, so I am basing this off of gai's current feats.
Gai beats 99% of the narutoverse pre-war- that is probably still going to be true EoS
-however guy looses to quite a few people pre-war -mostly the top teirs or the individuals who can survive a 7th gate onslought.
1) Obito- pre war obito phases out until guy runs out of gated form.
2) Nagato- Six paths nagato wins because guy willnot be able to defeat all 6 paths before he runs out of gated mode time-furthermore he wouldnot be able to to find nagato before he runs out of gate/becomes exhausted
3) Tsunade-With her seal activated, I believe she could tank Guy's seventh gate attacks and then go after guy after he is out of gates mode
4) Naruto (sage mode) + six tailed- I can see guy beating sage mode naruto- but six tailed+ wrecks him/ kyubi is in a league of its own when it comes to tailed beasts.
5) Orochimaru (healthy)-considering he tanked tsunade's rampage, 4 tailed naruto, I think he can outlast guys 7th gate. I don't think taijustu will beat orochimaru's white snake form.
Honerable Mention
1) Jiriaya- he has some fairly hax justu toad stomach, underworld swamp, sage mode, genjustu, frog collab- gamabunta combination-depending on wethor guy goes into gates immediatly or not will determine the match- if he gives Jiriaya time to enter SM and summon- he looses.
2) juugo- might be able to survive guy's gated attacks- after guy will be defensless and he would KO him.- this fight depends if he can tank the attack
3) Kakuzo- his earth defense + 5 hearts may be able to tank Gais attack-( guys attacks doesnot penetrate/cut it more pressure based) kakuzo could probably tank that.
4) Hidan-guy could destroy hidan easy- but without knowledge, guy wouldnot know how to take him out and might loose ( by exhausting himself trying to kill hidan etc..)
?) I am on the fense about killer B- I think they are largly equals- I don't know if 7th gate is enough to take out the ox, but the tornado spin destroyed a forest+ it would keep guy at distance- so I think this fight goes eithor way.

It's a general rule in manga to have the final power be much greater than all the previous ones.
SS3 is much greater than SS2 so much so that an SS3 can take on hundreds if not thousands of SS2s.
The same idea applies to NV. Nagato can use CT, but the true final power, Hagaromo can create the Moon(billions of times larger)
By this pattern, 8th gate will make 7th gate look like an ant.

Exactly, and people forget about the gradual increase of the 1-5 gates too! Just look at the speed increase Lee got from the 5th Gate. For Gai he'd be able to stay in that form for quite a long time, considering how his body's sustained the 7th gate multiple times in one day.True.

It's like, "If they survive Hirodura they win," when it's not even a given that Gai will use Hirodura. He might gradually increase his Gates, drastically increasing his fighting time.

Yes, but he'll be so focused on not looking at Itachi's eyes, that he'll become vulnerable to Itachi's other genjutsus(finger genjutsu for instance).

If eighth gate makes 7th look like an ant- I want to see Gai pick up the shinju and beat Madara with it
Seriously though-I agree with you, eigth gate is going to be something else- 7th gate guy ignited oxygen with his punches, his body is so hot that all water in the vicinity evaporates immediatly-etc..
I expect 8th gate guy to be around EoS yusuke urameshi level- ( mountain busting punches....)

Tsuande would fall, naruto w\o summonings.
Base Gai has already shown feats to counter the basic mechanics of Kamui, so it's debatable whether he could defeat him.
Gai with gates is obviously faster than Minato's foot speed but It's impossible to be faster than teleportation. He has faster striking speed which males up for that.
