Genuine question: if Snape was so masterful (and I don't doubt he was) why did he never really get the teaching job of Defence against the Dark Arts?
Dumbledore was afraid that if he were placed in that position, he would fall back into the Dark Arts.Genuine question: if Snape was so masterful (and I don't doubt he was) why did he never really get the teaching job of Defence against the Dark Arts?
We ought to keep our private life more private. So it would seem.
Then let's take it to PMs. u_uWe ought to keep our private life more private.
TO BE FAIR, James didn't really fight him with no wand, he kinda stood there and...you know..get killed. It's unfair to past judgement on a person who's gotten no development. It was clear that Snape was just as antagonistic to James as James was to him.
There's no doubt that Snape was a master duelist, but James fought Voldemort with no wand. Stupid, but ballsy.
Regardless, I absolutely despise this biased hate towards James Potter. He was a bully in his younger days, yes, but what was Snape exactly? Oh right, he was in deep with the Death Eaters, which is why Lily left him. Yes, Snape turned into a great man, but he was just as bad as James was back in their childhood days.
Also, James was part of the resistance against Voldemort, while Snape was helping. Snape was a character who lived his adult life struggling to make up for his youth's sins.
It's like pot calling the kettle black. Snape turned into a great man, and James turned into a great man. Simple as that.
^ Sorry for the rant.
Back to the topic, yes, I think Snape is top 3. Although, McGonagall may be better than him.
-____- I wasn't using that as a dueling feat, I was just putting it out there. The fact that he did not have a wand against Voldemort means that he couldn't actually put up a fight. That's the whole point..TO BE FAIR, James didn't really fight him with no wand, he kinda stood there and...you know..get killed.
