Welcome to the FC.~

I'm really looking forward to Persona 5 as well.

Has anyone here played/beaten P1 or P2 (IS and EP) besides me? :T_T:
I've played the first one on the PSP. I've also briefly played 2, but I didn't finish it.

I didn't play Persona 1, but I did play Persona 2 Innocent Sin. That boss...it's the greatest in "history", haha.

I need them to make Persona 4 Arena available for the PlayStation 4. When that happens...

I really don't want to play P4A2 without knowing the story of the first one.

Dancing All Night was such a random announcement, I laughed. I'll be picking it up though and Japan already gets Persona 5 this fall! This year! So close, yet so far...

Haha you're right about that :p one of the most unique bosses ever, IMO.

But P4A2 isn't going to be on PS4? You'll need a PS3/360 to play it too.

I see. How did you find them?
Persona 1 was a little bland, to be honest. I liked it, but it's not on the level of its successors.

I was planning on giving Persona 2 another chance since I found out who the final boss of Innocent Sin was a few weeks ago. I almost couldn't believe it..

The following question is mostly directed at you and Adachi (or anyone else who played the previous titles):

Does anyone know the reason Philemon doesn't have as much as an impact in Persona 3 and 4 as he did in the first two games? Persona 3 and 4 did show butterflies, indicating Philemon's butterfly guise, but he never interacted with the character again. The ''wild card'' was never fully touched upon until Persona 3, yet the characters of the previous titles could also wield multiple Personas.

I haven't really had the chance to delve into the stories of Persona 1 and 2 as much as the other titles, so I'm quite curious.

Of course, P1 was a sort of humble beginning. Unless you're a maniac like me, it's sucessors are definitely more worthwhile :p

Do it. Innocent Sin, in my opinion, has a story on par with or better than P3. Actually, the one you're thinking of isn't the final FINAL boss. I won't spoil anything, but the absolute final boss has one of the most "WTF", brilliant designs out of any boss in the series.

As for your question:
SBoC and I were discussing this via VM today, actually. My opinion is that he doesn't fit into the settings and themes of P3/4 as he did in the first two. He is a counterbalance to Nyarlathotep, and since he isn't the antagonist in 3/4, Philemon doesn't appear. However, that may just change with Arena 2 and/or P5 ;)

I have the first two Persona games sitting on my PS3 hard drive. Curse my backlog ~_~
Eternal Punishment is the 3rd game, its the 2nd installment in the P2 duology :p

I'd REALLY recommend the PSP version of the first one, they made some awful (so bad they're hilarious) changes in the localization of the PS1 version to "americanize" it. The PSP version has a smoother UI, graphical improvement, etc. And a BEAST arranged soundtrack.

Ohhhh man, didn't know about that!! I only got halfway into Nocturne when I first played it, maybe now I have an excuse to go back and finish it ;) thanks for sharing!

So here is a random question; Does anyone enjoy grinding once in a while? No matter what RPG I play, I always like to be overleveled at the beginning of the game for some reason.

I played the original Persona for the PS1 for a while. The only thing I can remember is the currency being changed to dollars. All I can say is that it's way more satisfying to fight 10 battles and run around with 2.400 yen instead of like $24.

Ah, Nocturne. I still have a copy for the PS2, I think. It's actually called Lucifer's Call here for some reason.

I like how it features Dante from Devil May Cry and how he fits into the entire ''demon'' concept.

I demand I be a member of this FC....please....
Sure, welcome to the FC.

Hmm... depends on my mood. Sometimes I'm content with running around a dungeon and just going ham for hours on end, but most of the time I try to keep it at a minimum so I can advance the plot, especially when the story is gripping or I want to do other things like level up Social Links, for example (in P3/4's case).

Sometimes this gets ahead of me though, and I get stomped by a boss, and have to forcibly go and grind for a long time to be able to beat them -_-

Persona 5 teaser for those with concern.

The hype is real. I need it. Now.

When it comes out this winter in Japan, I'm going to have to tie myself down to not look up spoilers
