It was a major asspull. There were NO implications that he could utilize it, let alone MASTER it. Why didn't he use it when they found out that it was juubito's weakness? Why didn't he use it against obito to save himself and defeat the nine tails? Why did everyone say that Jiraiya was the only person in Konoha that could use SM? Why??

Because it was an asspull retcon that didn't do anything but get his other arm chopped off and ruin Kakashi/Gaara's plan...

^^ Lol, if you feel like this then imagine that I was actually readly re-reading manga again(not all but some chapters from which I searched for manga scans).

It was a major asspull. There were NO implications that he could utilize it, let alone MASTER it. Why didn't he use it when they found out that it was juubito's weakness? Why didn't he use it against obito to save himself and defeat the nine tails? Why did everyone say that Jiraiya was the only person in Konoha that could use SM? Why??

Of course it was retcon and was thought by Kishi just right at moment. Yes I don't deny that it was not well thought-out. However I wanted to show that Kishi played smart and left himself space/room to create explanation as I did here.

minato did had SM but it is weaker than current naruto's SM.
And he did not have time to hone his abilities for SM so how could he use it when he was the hokage no war occured so everyone knew about jiraya only.
and as for juubito's weakness if he had used it who would protect the SA???
and for his 1 st fight with obito why would he use his sm when his ftg alone handled obito pretty nicely.

minato did had SM but it is weaker than current naruto's SM.
And he did not have time to hone his abilities for SM so how could he use it when he was the hokage no war occured so everyone knew about jiraya only.

Kishi could have made a different build up to SM, but he left room (unpurposely or purposely) to explain how
Minato could be an SM user. People can dislike him having SM and that is fine, but the
manga shows possible explanations for why we never saw him use SM while alive and
why he didnt use it vs Juubi jinc Obito.

i think itachi fanboys and minato haters are burthurt that minato can use SM and can Defeat their fav character now no matter what.
so they dont want to acknowledge that minato can do SM.

w/e the reason is, it's connected to edo tensei as alive minato never had and never could have SM with his fodder chakra.

I'd also like to add one point in my previous theory that Minato had Sage Mode.

The cloak naruto came with from Mt. Toad is resembling of Minato's. It has the same length and fire pattern, with only the colors being different.

I was -POSITIVE- the cloak was left there by Minato when he was training with the toads. No way in hell Naruto would somehow fashion himself or buy a similar cloak to Minato's Hokage Cloak.

I don't believe in coincidence.

- Jirayia/Fukusaku has shown Minato only basic of Senjutsu then Minato complete this training alone without appearing any more in front of Fukusaku.

- Most likely Minato lacked expierience with two modes(SM and BM) to even think about combining them.

So by your logic Minato could acquire SM by training manly alone with some tips but still he can't combine SM and BM ?
And how come he doesn't have enough experience with BM and KCM when he spent 17 years with Yin Kyuubi in RDS ?
And besides how come Naruto the stupid could use BSM while Minato the genius among genius can't ?

^ Minato knows about Senjutsu and how it works(yes it special hint left by Kishi). If it was just that he heard from Jirayia or it was known that Jirayia can use Senjutsu then there would be no need for Minato to know how it work. Here he knows exactly how it works and that senjtusu chakra can be added to technique.

Itachi also knows how Senjutsu works , does that make him a Senjutsu user ? no.

^^ Here is the manga scan which make most of people confused about it. However I believe Kishi used trick here, just watch as Minato says: ""He can use the same senjutsu as Jiraiya Sensei ?!". To me it looks like Minato was interrupted by Dark Yin Kurama before he could finish sentence which most likely cound ends with "and me". Even if you disagree with me at this point then Kishi still left himself room/space here to insert explanation if he gives Minato SM.

The sentence clearly ended with " !? " after " Jiiraiya Sensei " , if he was going to say " And me " , then it would have been " ... " after the " Jiraiya Sensei "

^^retconn and proof that Fukusaku at least met Minato and that Minato was Sage. Interesting fact is that Fukusaku said Naruto surprassed all these who came before him so at this point we could only expect Incomplete Sage mode.

How can Minato's SM be incomplete when he looks exactly like Naruto ? ( no frog features apart from the pupils )

^ Here Minato express his worry and sadness that his chakra was almost completly drained from him, in other words SM would be out of question.

Are you aware that SM takes energy out of the Nature ? how can his drained chakra ( that will regenerate anyway ) be a factor for draw in Nature energy ?

Kurama fired TBB because he sensed Minato on top of the Hokage's statue , he could have went SM after he put Kushina next to Naruto.

And we saw that it takes him merely some seconds to enter it.

WARNING : MY EXPLANATION MAKES SENSE HOW LONG AS YOU BELIEVE MINATO COULD NOT USE BSM... EITHER BM, KCM OR SM.

It doesn't make sense as i explained above.
