When Naruto was training to master sage mode it is said that he surpassed those previous two masters given the quality of the shinobi that minato was there is no doubt that he had the ability to master it the only question was did he have the chackra reserves needed and I think he didn't have enough to maintain it hence he didn't use it for it put him at a disadvantage if a fight was to carry on. You've just crossed the line from legitimate point to incorrect assumption. Minato beat Obito without senjutsu, so he didn't need it. Plus, it would have made an opening for Tobi to attack. Regardless of senjutsu, Kushina was gonna die. Therefore, it's not an a-pull in the sense that he needed it in the past but just showed it now.

Now, it could be that he's less skilled than Naruto in senjutsu which is why he couldn't perfectly balance senjutsu with Kurama who's a huge mass of chakra.
However, it does make sense that he would have senjutsu considering he was Jiraya's student and had a contract with the toads. No wounder why Jiraya called Minato a prodigy. He surpassed him senjutsu as well.

That page does not indicate that he doesn't have it. He said "the same jutsu as Jiraya sesnei." Jiraya obviously was the one who taught him it which explains why he thought of senjutsu as "Jiraya's." Again, it's more of a plot-hole than an a-pull.
