i personally think it is sasuke

i believe it is sasuke because of his ability to create stratagies within battle
unlike shikamaru that had to plan through the night to beat hidan
example: sasuke vs deidara
sasuke vs danzo

Shikamaru is just about the smartest, when was the last time anybody planned 200 moves ahead of time. madara is at about 15 . i mean lol... how could you possibly think sasuke is the smartest character as well as the most powerful? not an enthused fan eh?

The doofus was dumb enough to attack the Five Kage summit where the five most powerful ninjas plus ten other powerful ninja plus uncountable samurai were present and nearly got himself killed, instead of attacking Danzo on the way back like he did when Madara told him to.

Real intelligent, by the way. Mark of a genius, isn't it ? Failing to understand simple strategy.

If you're taking strategy on the go, you have to give it to Naruto, sines He learn to use shadow clones to speed His learning He has ben coming up with intricate plans of attacks with back up. Naruto showed it against Pain and others.

listen to the smart man; shikaku beated shikamaru in shogi, a game of strategy and intelligence. he wouldn?t have the position he has in konoha if he wasn?t intelligent, kakashi is a simple jounin , even shikamaru is in charge of teams and strategies when they go toghether, if you dont believe me, watch bonds and you will see how kakashi follows shikamaru?s orders.
