Jiraiya was wayyyyy more impressive to me, Look at their fights with Pain.

Jiraiya had the shittier SM, it took him ages to transform, he had no knowledge on Pain and only 3 toads and he managed to take down 4 fresh paths (Animal Path twice)

Naruto who had a perfect SM, was already transformed, had Katsuyu giving him info on all Pain's techs and had 6 toads only took down 3 before his SM ran out (could only use it again with prepped clones) and Nagato had already been using chakra busting villiages and shit.

It pains me to disagree since Jiraiya is my favorite character, but no, he is not. It is manga fact that Naruto not only surpassed him in SM, but fully developed it where Jiraiya could not.

Exactly. This x100000. People don't seem to realize how very impressive Jiraiya was in that fight, given the fact that he had to adapt instantly to the situation with ZERO knowledge and prep before fighting Pain. To be completely honest, Pain lost the fight to Jiraiya and thus was forced to resort to bringing out ALL of his Paths. If he did not have more bodies, it would have been 100% game over, and Jiraiya would be back at Konoha, banging Tsunade.
