Skype Error Code: 2738

Okay today like eight hours ago and I had logged off my skype and then tried to log back in. When the window popped up it just showed the blue screen and showed the 2738 code. I did some research on the code and tried the commands prompt and still the same problem.

So I was wondering do we have any computer techs on here that know what might be wrong with my laptop system? I am a computer nerd but when it comes to coding and codes popping I just suck at it.

Did you try Re-Downloading skype again? Yes i know it's a pain...And What laptop do you have?

I actually tried reinstalling it twice and the laptop I have is an Acer 5749Z-4809

This error is caused by missing registration of the vbscript.dll component, which Skype installer needs for uninstalling/re-installing Skype Toolbar. I’m afraid that you will get the same error with the new version too. In order to register vbscript.dll do the following:

Windows Start button -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click on Command Prompt, select 'Run as administrator'.

You should be in directory C:\Windows\System32

Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll (enter)

Should get a message box saying DLL has been registered.

Hmm..Have you looked around on this site?

Yep already did that and went to the exact same site. Every other site had the same command prompt.
