It would hit me dead center of the stomach, but with lessened power as the hairs would act as a sort of dampener in this scenario. So in when hit head on with techniques the hairs are capable of adding more defense to the body while sacrificing the ability to evade damage as with pushing away attacks with their slippery surface.

Description: The user will unleash an heavy amount of hair from desired part of his body, and into the ground, having it spread throughout the entire terrain, manifesting itself within the ground. Small patches of hair throughout the terrain can be spotted, emitted from the ground, going in an arc and back into the ground. The hair is closely linked to the user's senses, thus allowing him to detect any movement underground and above(Obviously, aslong as it touches the hair.). The heavy amount of hair can however also be used as a source for future Tsubaki no Hayashita Sennin techniques, keeping the traits of Cottage Garden.

Description: A less wild, yet more tactical version of hair strengthening; The user will emit quantities of hair from his body which coiling it around a specified body parts or, if he wishes, his entire body turning him into a ball of hair. Changing the properties of the hair, the user will be able to at incoming blockades in close combat, to have the hair allow him to slide past, as it was a piece of soap slipping through one’s hands, the blockade and proceed it’s original path unhindered. This would essentially, within reason, allow the user to slide past certain attacks without getting in physical contact, or hindered in his path, as well as avoiding certain attacks. The changing of properties of the hair, can however also take place, by reversing the proccess, thus making it 'lethal' following the restrictions and limitations of the style - Such as making them sharp.

Pros, cons, and perform.
So the pros of Cottage Garden is primarily a sensory type technique, more specifically tactile sensory similar to Gaara's sand. It spans the entire terrain so its scope is non-exhaustive and it deals with targets both above and below ground. Oh, and they can be used as source for other DoBS moves so that's a plus also. Cons are that they can be seen and avoided (to an extent) if the user is capable such as through flying or even destroying them.
Yosamu inhales and exhales multiple times before focusing chakra into his legs, where hairs would pour from it like a thick stream and immediately burrow into the ground. There it would propagate underground for a bit before bursting up all around himself and his sensei. In seconds the entire old forge was no longer overrun by weeds and grass but rather black, shiny hair. The technique stays active even after he was done and he could feel the life all around him that he couldn't before. Rats, ants, squirrels, etc the minute they made contact with at least a strand of the hair he became aware.

Hmm, so it states to defend against most outside attacks but on what terms? Is it equal to elemental Ninjutsu? As a matter of fact, are any of the DotBS techs equal to the elements? Despite this its a somewhat tricky defense seeing it leaves the head and feet exposed but I suppose an opportunity will present itself--eventually.
One such opportunity would be against something like a Chidori Spear (assuming elemental neutrality) or Rasengan. Basically, attacks which target solely the torso of the body and nowhere else.

Yeah, it's basically neutral to all.
Anyway, I always use this against blunt attacks such as Rising Rock Pillars. Just an example. People that punch at you, are thrown back - It will feel as hitting a trampoline, basically. You get it?

Not if you adjust it, to hit your stomach. I mean, if somebody throws a Rasengan at you, nobody aside from you decide if you wanna headbutt it, body slam it, or palm slap it. Theortically speaking.

Upon in contact with a lightning technique, the users chakra in his hair will guide the lightning sending it through a path of his hair and then releasing a weakened version of the opponents technique in the desired direction in the form his wishes, it could be a lightning bolt, or a current of electricity travelling through the ground, or a 360 degree shockwave.

So this is basically like that canon Kenjutsu technique, Lightning Rod, only with hair. It serves to intercept lightning technqiues and divert its power, using the hair around your body, then redirect said technique in a weaker form in many ways such as an all-directions shockwave or projectile type like a bolt.
Drawback is obviously that this is only applicable to lightning techniques, advantage is that it's a quick defense applicable to pesky stuff like Nagashi.

Description: Perhaps one of the most powerful techniques of the Dance of the Bearded Sage where the user will, through the conversion and release of an immense amount of chakra, empowers and manipulates hair to emerge from each pore on their body to create a construct fueled by the user’s chakra flow to essentially create a humanoid which encases the user’s body. The hair produced by the user’s body is incredibly versatile in the sense that it is capable of possessing different characteristics upon creation which can be changed in battle. It can be produced as firm and unbending hair, soft and pliable hair, or elastic hair capable of producing A-Rank physical damage. The humanoid will essentially accentuate the user’s movements. For example should the user run forward the construct will respond the same producing the identical movement and speed. The construct’s appearance can vary aesthetically but essentially in its creation it will take the form of a large humanoid roughly up to three times the size of the user. The hair produced by the by the user’s body is infused with an immense amount of chakra; as such it offers the user incredible defensive capabilities for its duration. The humanoid construct is capable of defending against A-Rank elemental ninjutsu and S-Rank taijutsu. Should the humanoid be cut the user is capable of expending an additional 5 chakra to replace the lost body parts. Due to the excessive chakra infused into the hair other Dance of the Bearded Sage techniques which use the hair of the Vigorous Soul will gain an increase of 20 damage to their strength.
Once activated, lasts four turns. Restoring the hair requires the user to expend one of their moves and 5 chakra. Upon deactivation the user will suffer exhaustion and be unable to use taijtusu up to A-Rank and will have lost two ranks in speed for two turns. The great amount of hair expelled from the user will cause them to experience a full body pain from their pores.

So this is basically Susano'o but made of hair, lol. There's a lot of stuff going on here with this so I'll take my time. Firstly, being three times the size of the user and carrying F ranked defensive capabilities this is already an ultimate defense, which doesn't require hand seals, mind you. It carries A ranked damage in just its free form attacks and is capable of even regenerating should it be attacked. Though, regeneration cost a move and negligible amount of chakra. Lastly, if I use the hairs made from this technique specifically, subsequent DoTBS techniques gain a +20 damage, which is basically a rank boost. Very nice.
Drawback is that speed reduction debuff lasting two turns. Whoa, that's harsh, but expected.
