Even zetzu said Itachi should of been much stronger than he was.

Itachi wasn't even close to his "limit" in the battle with sasuke, If you go back you will see Itachi let sasuke win, Even madara said if itachi wanted sasuke dead he would of been dead.

Even tho itachi was almost dead/blind sasuke still would of lost, Shows the Gap between their strength

I doubt even Ms sasuke could beat the six paths let alone Pre-Ms

Itachi was suffering from disease and would have died quite ago, he was only alive due to sheer willpower and taking of medicines, only in the hope of dying in sasuke's hands.
If your conclusion is right SupaBoo, then itachi should have cut sasuke's head off with is totsuka when sasuke was left out of jutsus and crying.
Also then, why itachi implanted his amaterasu in sasuke then???
