Kabuto forsure. Plus why would a current villian be weaker than an old one? Especially since it's Itachi and Sasuke, who are way better than SM Naruto.

I'd go with Kabuto due to his sage mode being able to blind multiple targets and it having high perception power. If he summons Manda II, Pain is in trouble.

Not true necessarily , Kabuto cant beat pein without Edo . Kabuto's edo is his biggest advantage , Which makes him stronger than the past Antagonists (Villains)

Whoah. Pain was trying to capture Naruto, not kill him. Pain could have easily slaughtered Naruto from the get go.
I think you are forgetting how powerful the paths of pain are, especially since Kabuto has no knowledge of Pain's true identity.

Not true to you. Kabuto is far too smart for Pain and Kabuto's abilities are complex and very useful. Only Deva Path is a threat, Manda 2 will take care of Pain's animal summonings and what the hell are rockets and a dude who can take your soul do to Kabuto? Like they could get clsoe enough. And yeah I know villians are more from comic books but I hate spelling out antag-whatever lol

Tell me one destructive jutsu that Kabuto has that can destroy all of pains summons and the actual bodies. Kabuto has nothing that compares to rasenshuriken

And Itachi and Sasuke are just trying to stop Kabuto so HA! And who said Kabuto knows nothing about Pain? He did summon Nagato and I'm sure he knows a lot about Rinnegan

None of Pain's summons are as large or fast as Manda II. Also Manda II was able to poison and tip over(with the help of Deidara) the giant turtle island, See how large the summon is.

Deva pain survived Eight Tails? Come on, all the 8 tails Kurama did was roar at him. And Kabuto can heal and liquify himself so that 8 tails shockwave would do nothing but send his water-self flying. And Kabuto can control anything non-living and there are A LOT of non-living things to control
What the hell, the bolded part has nothing to do with anything
and he knows about Rinnegan but he doesn't know where the real Nagato would be in the fight and would have no way of knowing

I wonder if Kabuto can manipulate the chakra blades on the paths of Pein since they're not living things O.O neither are the paths for that matter but idk
