minato would defenitly win on intellegence alone, he has been shown to directly know people's weakness, as is the fight versus tobi, who bossed around nagato as his minion ( sorry for the bad english )

I'd give this to Minato though. Hiraishin no Jutsu doesn't just give him an advantage in terms of speed and tons of possibilities to escape Pain's attacks, it also disables his strongest technique, Chibaku Tensei.

Pain but minato if he sees all there abilities in the first minutes of the battle but without any info pain is invincible as konan and tobi saidxd plus shinra tensei has a waiting time interval of 5 seconds so even if he does blow them away he can still get back in time with a spare kunai (like naruto got back in time to hit deva path with rasengan after using his shadow clones) also ultimate shinra tensei means all of pain's bodies except deva will be inactive so Minato can use some seals he learned from kushina uzumaki (his wife) to seal them and then there's no one left protect the weakened deva path (with no abilities for a while) so minato pwns him with difficulty

I think minato's jutsu are well suitied to fighting the six paths of pain. Because he can essentially teleport, plus his already amazing base speed and his incredible intellect.

somehow it's really a yes because the strongest pain needs 5 second interval in his technique...he's the fastest guy in konoha but the problem is if it reaches a prolonged battle because nagato has a monstrous chakra of his own...

anyway, to make it short even chibaku tensei or shinra tensei would catch minato because he can always teleport away from its range and come back once the jutsu is finished...besides, pain is not that fast, even naruto can touch or attack him with taijutsu freely...

I'm not sure. The only reason Jaraiya figured out that the real one wasn't there, was because the six paths of pain were all people he previously knew. Jaraiya was surprised to see Yahiko alive and then ended up suspecting that they were being controlled because of that. He also felt like the animal path wasn't the Nagato he knew. I doubt Minato even knows Nagato to figure out that much but I do believe that at least he'll figure out the individual powers of each path and make counters for them. That is, if he could keep an eye on all of them at once without being hit by surprise or overwhelmed.

I could see either one winning with certain deciding factors, a short fight is in pain's favor because the longer they fight the more time minato has to discover their individual abilities. If minato isn't caught with no seals/kunai spread around he will see each one is only doing one thing each, he can never blind side them for some reason ( all their eyes look alike maybe shared vision) but the 5 second interval and them being corpses would take outside knowledge or dumb luck.

A long fight would be a minato win, a short overpowering fight would be Pains.

isn't it the other way around??? a long fight would be nagato's win because he has much chakra to spare...a short fight would be for minato since he has lesser chakra than nagato's and that's for sure...even the pain's strongest attack wouldn't hurt minato because it is only for a certain range...

SHINRA TENSEI + BANSHO TENIN + CHIBAKU TENSEI wouldn't even scratch minato....anyway, he always keeps a safer retreat place for himself as shown by his feats...meaning it's a chakra loss for nagato...but if he can drag his secret for a long time and tire minato, then it would be easy for him to discard him like tearing up a paper...

the only difference between minato and jiraiya is that minato can always retreat and disappear like how tobi does it and fight another day...

i think he'll manage with pain's speed, they aren't that fast anyway, they even don't have lots of combination attacks...just notice their attack patterns against naruto...heck, they were easily caught by smokebombs + rasengan combination as well...im not saying the pains aren't that strong but it's really a bad match up for them...

but as ive said, once they can prolong their secret they can outlast and tire minato making him very susceptible to attacks IF minato doesn't retreat with FTG...

i wonder what will minato do if animal path spam his/her pets and use the bird to fly with the other path and keep his distance to minato, while deva can fly on his own and attack with shinra tensei from above

Minato all the way. Just think this way..Speed, Power, Chakra, Intelligence most likely determines the winner. Minato has the advantages...

Intelligence: Minato
SPeed: Can't be debated...Minato takes this
Power: Though pain has powerful jutsus, rasengan can still kill pain...
Chakra..Minato takes this one..why? because....
NINJUTSU: advantage MInato

Why Minato has the advnatage in NINJUTSU when Pain can use all elements? Very simple..FTG+Rasengan combo uses little to no chakra at all...Minato will win in the end because of Chakra. Pain has powerful jutsus but it consumes large amount of chakra that why the cooldown existed for him...

Even if Pain has 1000 s-rank jutsus, it will not change the fact that his chakra reserve would still be the same. His usage of powerful jutsus uses also large amount of chakra. Do you see now why Minato has this combo? It has the advantages that a shinobi is looking for in a battle.

Now, add his sealing mastery and summons and you have an unbeaten ninja. Not to mention that Minato was able to teleport the fox. If the fox weighs 100 times more than Pain, and Minato was able to use only let's say 50% of his chakra then it's safe to say that Minato can teleport Pain 200 times before he depleted his chakra..Please remember that teleportation is INSTANTANEOUS...

shinra tensei < FTG to a safer place

spamming animals would just make him more concentrated on the caster and he can call out ma frog (saving his chakra) and use her to summon the other frogs for back up...

it is a gamble for pain since it has a huge lag depending on the range used...nwei minimum is 5 secs for a short ranged one...still more than enough time for minato to engage and mark him through body flicker (not FTG...)

nagato would waste his chakra doing those stuff...the only simulation wherein he can beat minato is he needs to setup by catching minato with the chakra sucking path

I have explained why Minato has the advantages in NINJUTSU. ADvantage does not mean that he has more powerful jutsus. Pain would not dare to engage in TAIJUTSU..why? because one touch from MInato and it's death for him..Why does Nagato has the advantage in chakra when his jutsu's are very powerful? His jutsu's consumes large amount of chakra. In the END, it would be an advantage for Minato.
