Background Info.
History: Shulk likes to think things through and is very methodical in his approach to most situations. Early details show that he is able to wield the Monado due to the fact that he was one of the only known survivors on a previous expedition to retrieve the sacred weapon. He first acquires the sword when his home village was attacked. His first act upon acquiring the "destined weapon" is to fight for an end to avenge Flora.

You can use freestyle kenjutsu, meaning you just explain how you're striking like "I slash horizontally from left to right". But as for actual kenjutsu techniques, those need to be learned. For now since you're a genin remove the part about wanting to learn kenjutsu from the "elements" section and just place it somewhere in the history saying your character is interested in swords.

After you get your bio approved you need to go to the custom jutsu submission thread and submit the custom weapon there. Once that gets approved you can put the weapon in your bios, but for now you're stuck with normal weapons so you can use a normal katana.
