manage to create a hard barrier of wind to stop the attack (the taijutsu) and immediatly do a chidori storm (no handseals) to shock teh defencless and then use a finishing move

with the seeds, wouldn't you sense the chidori and not the chidori raimei since in the description is says the NEXT elemental attack? If thats the case, they wouldn't you know that he performed a chidori against the earth way and not that he used chidori raimei to gain control of the thunder clouds.

As far as if he did get Kirin off, its a instantaneous attack so you wouldn't be able to use your wind attack to block/cancel it since it happens in a blink of an eye so
