ANBU was divided into squads. There was no single leader apart from Hokage. Itachi was only a squad leader, no indication whatsoever that he was Kakashi's superior.

The part of the filler that says Kakashi was ANBU captain is pretty much canon, considering how even after Kakashi left the organization, ANBU members still follow his orders. It's not something just any ANBU could do.

Certain Anime episode have follow Kishi story.
That's why current episode have several episodes
showing Kakashi as Captain of a Team, not ANBU.
Also Itachi was in the beginning under Kakashi, including Yamato.
That was explained in the anime episode, "Kill Kakashi" but Yamato did not.
Kakashi did not know anything about Itachi.
Kakashi from the beginning was dislike by many, including Obito.
It is hard for Kakashi to know about Itachi as a person, but as a Team, it is a different issue.
Itachi blind Kakashi, as he had to do it, because Kisame was his partner (knowing Kisame is Obito spy)
But Itachi did not capture Naruto and only play with Sasuke,
and most possibly Kisame did not tell Obito, else Obito will be suspicious of Itachi.

Itachi did not harm Konoha at all.
The final fight Itachi vs Sasuke, it could be plan by Itachi, to avoid Obito suspicious.

kisame didnt care what itachi did. if itachi was trying to be as merciful and cowardly as possible, he wouldnt care. he even called itachi overly ruthless for using genjutsu on his own brother.

itachi ensured konohas complete desturctiom, betrayed it several times, committed treason, declared war on knoha by trying to murder kakashi, and gave nukes to akatsuki
