Shouldn't Kakashi have known Itachi was a good guy?

According to the most recent anime fillers, Kakashi was the captain of the ANBU squad when Itachi joined.

One of their missions were to spy on the Uchiha. Kakashi knew there was distrust between the Uchihas and the rest of the village due to the 9 tails incident.

Kakashi already suspected that their might be a coup d'état, and Danzo and Hiruzen already argued many times about how to go about the situation.

According to this info, shouldn't Kakashi have suspected that Itachi, working as an ANBU for Hiruzen/Danzo, might of killed his own clan as a mission?

If so, why all the animosity when they meet in battle several years later?

Konoha didn't want everyone to know that the elders/hiruzen/danzo ordered the assassination.
that is why Itachi had to "flee" to act like a criminal and leave Sasuke behind...
so that everyone would think Itachi was just a maniac that slaughtered his own clan...
this way no one would ever suspect the Hokage or the Elders...

I still think shisui lost due to plot. Sasuke dodged Danzos Izanagi multiple times at base speed. According to the filler Shisui who is praised as a teleporter was slow enough for danzo to take his eyes? And why is the third so dumb? Makes me so mad. Im glad they died. I hope sasuke still kills the other elders or atleast they kill themselves.

kakashi probably disagreed with itachis methods to stop the coup. plus itachi joined akatsuki meaning he accepted itachi had gone insane

so that everyone would think Itachi was just a maniac that slaughtered his own clan...

lol konoha are morons. years of bad blood and mistrust among uchihas and suddenly they get killed just as it looks like things will become violent? by a mysterious anbu captain no less who cant even take out his brother. leaving sasuke alive should be the first hint this wasnt the random killings of a sadist

Kakashi said he was a captain at age 13 and if Kakashi was under him, it'd have been mentioned because it's an important matter...

Lol, where the heck did you get the part "of the entire anbu, including Kakashi"?
ANBU was divided into squads. There was no single leader apart from Hokage. Itachi was only a squad leader, no indication whatsoever that he was Kakashi's superior.

The part of the filler that says Kakashi was ANBU captain is pretty much canon, considering how even after Kakashi left the organization, ANBU members still follow his orders. It's not something just any ANBU could do.
