It is true that they are culturally significant but the same thing can be said of the wax figures displayed in the Tower of London, the wax figures provide income, the Royal Family takes income.

And yes sir we are a republic because we are a representative democracy.

The Monarchy also brings in money as well in the form of tourism. No idea what the numbers are but it may balance out.

I agree with the mentality of if it ain't broke don't fix it. The UK seems to be doing just fine with the government it has right now so there's no reason to cause major change. Some people may dislike the money used to support the Monarchy, but in the end its a very minor issue.

From wiki:

Reports filed by the Royal Household state that total annual expenditure, as of March 2012, was £32.1 million.[3] However, when the costs of security, lost revenue and palace grounds maintenance among others, are included, then the real cost, according to the anti-monarchy pressure group Republic, is between £134 and £184 million per year.

So if you take the high end of 184 million pounds, its really not that much. The GDP of the UK in 2011 was 2.4 Trillion pounds, so the cost to support the Monarchy is 0.076% of the GDP.

Seeing UK as a Republic seems weird. They look fine as a democracy. Personally I don't really care what government they have since I don't live there, but I guess it would be nice to them as a Republic for a bit.

Should the UK become a Republic like the United States or should it remain a Constitutional Monarchy with a Prime Minister as Head of State with a Ruling Monarch as a Constitutional Sovereign and why?

Stay what they are, stop being bullheaded pricks and join the european union

I thought your country was a Democracy?, But regardless there's no pint in changing it now. Besides the royal family is a part of our history and identity we won't change that for anyone.

Any government thats not a Monarchy is basically a Republic. (I know...Its an over simplified way to put it but its true.)

A government can be a democracy and a republic at the same time.

Democracy is when the citizens, collectively, do the actual ruling of a country. (also over simplified) That is when the people make the decisions that really matter e.g. deciding whether to go to war, determining taxes, laws, persecuting minorities, etc, etc. Very impractical and too delicate if you ask me. That's probably why there aren't any democracies any more (At least none that I know of).

The very word "Democracy" stirs strong sentiment amongst some people, and there's some others that tend to exploit those emotions by inventing association to the term Democracy and by corrupting the original and true meaning of the word.

I see, but is the Monarchy crucial to the existence of government, and if not, do they at least contribute to the overall welfare of the UK and why?

yes they do the entire english tourism industry is based on their royal family

also the UK is the most important country when it comes to the development of constitutional and parliamentary law, the concept of a modern parliament was built in GB and that alone is enough not to replace the pm with a president

the us parliament is mostly based on the uk parliament and the president is only one person who wields such power because before america had a president they had a british king and later based the president on that

also the us constitution wouldnt exist without the development of constitutional law in britain, altough britain itself has no constitution

i could write much much more and much more accurately, but whats the point?

PS: if the UK became a republic they wouldnt have a president like potus they would have a head of the state with severely limited executive power and a pm with the same authority as he does now

also the british queen has a german bloodline :) kinda funny isnt it?
