Gaiden isn't garbage and it's main point wasn't about action. It's main point was to teach a lesson
It was plot garbage writing. If your serious right now then ... no words :lol

Because for some reason I remember you writing a lengthy post on it, so I think you're trolling me.

I liked Gaiden more than the movie actually. Many people just don't like it because they did not get the ending they thought they were getting due to obvious bait, but got the exact opposite. :lol But everyone enjoyed the hell out of the process, I remember the times, the crave for spoilers, the threads and the discussions. The Boruto Movie never got anywhere near that.

This post is kind of weird though.

People dislike the Gaiden because more or less, because the writing was shitty. Or I'm going to assume everyone who dislikes the Gaiden apparently wanted Karin as the mother? If I remember correctly, even you did at some point did not know what to believe when it came to who actually was the mother.

Aside the point, the Gaiden only brought activity because it was the first piece of new Manga content that we received. There was a lot of hype before it started, to the point where you had thousands of online spectators just waiting for the Manga to drop (I remember because I was doing the same). After the first chapter, it was hilariously funny because it shat on an entire fandom and everyone was rolling in the dirt. The Gaiden had no plot outside of CH.1 other than being family drama.

When Chapter 2 released, that's when we saw another 'Uchiha' and then the hype for the story began, hell even I was getting excited because it was hilarious, and surprisingly getting interesting.

Though after a while people began to realize what the Gaiden truly was, to the point where more Anti-Gaiden and Anti-Naruto reviews in total (actual accounted for). Hell even myself I have a few reviews the day the Gaiden ended on the bookmark thread feature NB has.

But for the most part, even my threads I made for the Boruto Movie, all were decent. The day the Boruto Movie released in the spoiler thread (for Japanese) was accounted for, to the point where OD had to make a spoiler thread in reddit which had viewers staying up all night for information, and the thread I made had breached guest count.

Lastly, most of the things you posted have to do with activity. The Gaiden came out weekly, and usually weekly works have viewers drawn to come in a at a certain time to share their opinions on the latest Chapter. The movies are totally different scenario's in itself. Which discussion threads only came out after recent spoilers, recent information via sources, or after the Movie was released for everyone to watch.

Even now some people haven't seen the Movie due to it not releasing in their country. Though that wouldn't matter much considering how dead the fandom is. Biggest example being our pairing thread that we usually chatted in, which gets active every blue moon.

Figured as much (about the Gaiden part). I haven't met someone who actually liked the story and wasn't a pairing fan (for the one it was talked about).

You waiting for it in theaters in your Country, or just waiting for a DVD release? There's still a lot of people who haven't seen the movie yet. I honesty had to go the day it dropped xD

I actually I never once believed that Karin was the mother naturally with Sasuke being unfaithful to Sakura, anybody
who actually considered that a slight possibility must have been high on meth or on hate. I only very briefly (for a few days) thought that she could be a surrogate of some kind because of Sakura having problems, but a few days later was back saying Sakura is the obvious bio-mom and some people bashed me for it lol, those were some funny times especially after that bet thread and seeing people literally back track. :lol

Anyways, I understand what you're saying, it's true we were hungry for content and Gaiden had mad hype, but it still kept people entertained. It had some decent action despite some serious nerfs (or just pitiful underestimating), and some bad drama coupled with conciliation and fan-service. Mind you I do agree that some of the writing was horrible and lacking and I would've went about it very differently, but the main reason some people really push the "it sucked" agenda is because it neglected their favorites and their kids and focused on a couple that they disliked and their kid instead. And to be fair it was falsely advertised so that's understandable.

Now the movie on the other hand, it was hyped a lot more than Gaiden, and received a good reaction because of it's superior action and diverse character screen time. I still think it could've been better, the villains were meh, and besides the taijutsu which was cool, the arsenal used against Momo was very disappointing, and the way he was defeated is even worse. So everything was nerfed for the kids again, but there were some good themes and the end credits was awesome.

lmfaoo surrogate

I could of swore you thought she was the mother when the DNA test came out. But that was pretty vague too. Nevertheless, it ain't important.

I think the Gaiden went downhill after chapter 3 imo, but that's mostly cause I'm a Naruto fan and I didn't like his nerf. Especially when he went from "omg lulzz hotkage, gonna wreck shin, that smug face" to "holy shit he used rsm, weak weak man, lol fodder swords stab BAHHH" ~ Yeah.

Story wise it probably suffered around the DNA test. Like just stop already Kishimoto :lol

Also, when it comes to Manga/Movie related things, since we get weekly releases, there's more time for you to discuss and make theories on the events happening in the Manga because you don't get the full details until after the story is over.

In comparison to the Movie which more or less explains everything in the film. If you ask me though, I think Kishimoto keeps making the mistake of showing Sasuke's family outside of films, because he likes to torture you guys (not really though, but you know what I mean).

Yea like I said, it was just for a few days and that surrogate theory, never once believed he had a side-chick, I quickly saw through it though and chapter 8 just made it even more clear.

Yea that's true, manga always get more thorough discussions and theories. Not just because of the weekly releases, but unlike anime it's fresh original content. And yea unlike movies you get the story in increments, leaving room for theories.
