Naruto made it's mark in the industry, but it exploded from the beginning. It was extremely popular and steadily growing fast. In comparison to OPM which only started to receive the same treatment after the installment of the re-drawn series via person who also helped in Eye Shield 21 I believe.Naruto has made its mark in the industry, If you enjoyed Naruto up until shippuden, no new content should take that away from you. Furthermore, fans today go into mangas (not just Naruto) with selfish mind frames of what they "think" the story should have went instead of just respecting the Authors point of view of how he wanted the story to go. You didn't like it, ok, respectfully state your opinion and move on. You didn't like it, stick around for current content and still ***** about how you didn't like, forget if what the author is producing is worth our time or not, it's a waste of your time to stick around some where you're not satisfied.
Like I said before, it does. The biggest example to showcase this is the Naruto Gaiden itself. This was the first piece of new /Manga/ content since the series ended, and everyone was hopeful and excited for it. When the series released, people were skeptical with the whole drama with Sasuke's family, but ultimately it wasn't all that terrible considering we were introduced to next generation character who weren't all that bland.
But do you know what happened from that perspective as the series ended and reached it's climax? People were simply angry. They felt as if they had wasted their time, and for the most part nothing was explained either. What's worse is that Kishimoto explained before the series had started that it was a prologue for the Boruto: Naruto the Movie.
This isn't just opinion based on how the story should go, or how we think the story should go. It's about how the story can continue to capture the fan's of the series who have been following for years. You can't just follow a Naruto, or Sasuke story without some sort of plot there. When the plot is horrible, it ruins aspects of your character, and how you view the series in total (I-E: Naruto the Last).
The problem is whether or not Kishimoto can produce content for the Naruto series where he can still maintain a level headed story. Do you really want Naruto to end up like DBZ? I mean look at Gohan, bloody Gohan. He used to be one of the best characters of the franchise. and then he ended up worse than Piccolo.
I'm pointing out that a continuation of Naruto might do more harm than good. I mean it already has either-way.
