I think most of us would agree that Kaguya felt forced, was poorly written, and a year later Kishi is still trying to justify her as the last antagonist with yet another movie. Would Orochimaru have been better? Is the theory about potentially allowing him to take Sasuke's body a good one?

Pain should have been the final villian. Naruto should have earned Kurama's trust during the fight and used his KCM + Sage mode to win.

Kaguya wasn't forced, she was rushed. And that's not something I hold against Kishi, but against Shonen Jump.

His editor and publishers were getting on his back during the Kaguya Arc about wrapping it up; Kishi had no space to breathe, never mind develop her, especially as the final fight had to be fitted in too.

I would've preferred Oro to have been in Obito's place, and then to have finished up with Madara. Like, "Oro's true intentions are revealed" and he takes advantage of Obito's state after the Kakashi fight.

Obito was poor as a major villain.

I liked a few of his moments after getting the curse seal wiped (2 Kamui was badass) but just like Madara I was satisfied when he got Juubi-Yanked. Obidara was cooler & I loved Tobi ten times as much.

But Orochimaru trying to pull something AGAIN & getting knocked down for good (again) would have been pleasing but not with him as a final villain. Madara was enough & Kaguya should have stayed as mythos.

Orochimaru was a secondary villain of part 2, when he was gone I felt like he was rightfully taken out of the story. It was so cool to see Sasuke having plans to meet w him when he first announced it... But it's like the Orochimaru that came out wasn't the same character. It's like his evil was stripped from him. He was a true villain that episode in part 1 when he confronts Kakashi w that purple aura. But afterwards no way. Unless kishimoto developed some way for Kabuto to actually be the final villain who has all his modifications SM, senju DNA, and the sharingan/rinnegan. Like oro/him wanted, and then oro possessing his body like we all thought was to happen..

But nah oro would have only been good if he achieved his goal. Sage mode, his zetsu body, getting sharingan somehow would have been great and cool to fight against

Madara was too serious and godly to be the final villain. Kishi also probably wanted to close the story w some part 1 antics, and emphasizing the teamwork of 7. He couldn't do that w a fight against Madara. That whole final fight sums up team 7 in its entirety and kind of sums up part 1's theme. He ended it perfectly for a cumulative story. But other than that...... This^^

Orochimaru is now under power next to Naruto and Sasuke,He is now of no consequence and His son is part of the new team seven. No Orochimaru is now retired against 5 United Nations He stands no chance.
