Saying the 1st was strong due to bijuus is a facade.

Thats like saying a 5'3" terminally ill cancer patient of 5 years old can win a fight against a 6'6" professional boxer if he has 8 friends all of who are the 8 strongest people in the world gang up against said boxer.

Kakuzu fought against the 1st and is still alive to tell the tale...so is madara too.

Not to mention as kishi states-the next generation betters the previous.

Im going to side with the WRITER on this one, and state that new generation leaf ninja (some) are more powerful than the 1st

...For example, the 2nd and 3rd, considering the 1st was still young when they both had hokage titles, and the 1st as shown loved konoha, he wouldnt give the job og hokage up unless someone more powerful than him arose-protecting his beloved country more than he could.

The 1st is strong, however strip him of bijuu and hes nothing amazing compared to say, the 3rd, 4th, naruto, jiraiya, gaara maybe, itachi definitely, pain, madara (maybe, madara was against maybe 8 tailed beasts, thats quite a feat to survive that)


In all honesty id rather be pit against the 9tails than 1tails through to 8tails at the same time.

Dont get me wrong the 9tails is uber strong, but all of the tailed beasts put together can surely wipe 9tails out?

Imagine all 8 tailed beasts ganging up against 9tails, the 1st had a major advantage and still got beaten up by madara.

for what i've seen so far in 348 this chapter proves how bad ass the 1st hokage was... the only one to fight all nine tails and madara, then to win and live to speak about how bad ass he was.

1st hokage beat the overpowered ninetails and uchiha, wow that guy is on a different level.

hashirama was truly the most powerful ninja ever. compare all the hokage the strongets one for me was shodaime.

yondaime only fought with the kyuubi and seal it so he doens't stang against shodaime. shodaime fought with all of the nine tails beast and control them in top of that he beat madara behind it.

sarutobi sensei doesn't stand a chance.

so the strongest hokage for all the time was shodaime, not because i used him as my username.

i cant totally agree with you because shodaime also had tailed beast at his beck and call what other hokage had that but shodaime was very strong but i still think the 4th can defeat him

Shodaime had up to 8 tailed beasts under his control, please note im not saying he had the 8tailS im saying he had a myriad of possibly all 8 tailED beasts, last time i pointed this out retards are us from dyslexia land kept going on and on and on and on about this and it pissed me off immensely

So actually shodaime didnt fight madara and all 9 tailED beasts, shodaime fought madara and the 9tailS with 8 of his little wee pets as well.

Yondaime didnt have POSSIBLY 8 tailED beasts helping him, but he still got the better of madara, admittedly sacrificial.

Fact 1-A hokage is the strongest ninja in the village, ergo when the 2nd hokage came forth he was more than likely stronger than the 1st, there is little reason that the 1st would stop holding the title of hokage "because i want my lil bro to be it too"

The 1st hokage proved he lays his life on the line willingly and is honourable, as thus it would be terribly out of character for him to weasel himself out of hokage position, the only reason would be someone bettered him


Fact 2-The 1st gave all the tailed beasts away apart from seemingly the 9 tails which is "konohas bijuu" according to granmda chiyo in the rescue gaara arc, this may explain why the 2nd hokage came to be, because the 1st quit using tailED beasts and as thus his skills only as a human alone were great-but can be bettered.

Fact 3-The 3rd achieved the title of hokage as a teenager and took on the 1st and 2nd hokage at the same time with orochimaru in the background too, AND when he was old and had chakra degradation, the 1st didnt use his lil beasties.

Fact 4-Yondaime is considered and written by kishi as a god among even hokage, that even the 3rd, who best the 1st and 2nd at the same time, admitted to being stronger than he.

Fact 5-Kishi is writing about the ideas that the next generation always beats the old, there is little reason to believe the 1st was all powerful other than the fact he controlled beasts through a lucky blood limit as others did not have this bloodlimit.

Strip away them beasts and he is great but nothing to make a legend out of

I went back and started reading the Manga from when Jiraiya fought Pein, and I came across this, which in my opinion proves Shodaime to be the strongest ninja possibly ever.

The second image shows how Madara is explaining to Sasuke about the attack 16 years ago being a natural disaster.

Madara would have no reason to lie to Sasuke since he is attempting to gain Sasuke's trust (or maybe he has some other secret reason), but in my opinion, Shodaime took out both Madara (One of the greatest ninjas), and the Nine-Tails (The most powerful Beast ever). That has to put him in at least contention for greatest ninja ever.

wat u left out was jman talkin to the key scroll frog about how minato knew something of grave importance about the kyuubi attack 16 yrs ago, probably that madara was behind the 9-tail attack, which suggests that minato did fight madara and the 9-tails with no bijuu. and yes he died but he also foiled madara's plan, and probably injured madara enough that he had to retreat, i mean he had already caused a good amount of damage to konoha and wit out the 4th who else was there to stop him from destroying all of konoha even without the kyuubi, so not only did he seal the kyuubi but he also did enough harm to madara to force him to retreat from the battle, and all this without any bijuu, just him and gamabunta, 4th is the strongest hokage so far
