Sakura can fight, she's an undeveloped mini Tsunade.
Shizune is..meh, I don't really like her.
Besides, field meds aren't supposed to go into battle, Tsunade is an exception.

First off, Shizune and Sakura could both save any one of the naruto characters lives easily and neither of them are useless or the worst. Sakura would pawn Shizune in a fight (one punch to the ground and Shizune is most likely on all fours) but Shizune im positive surpasses Sakura in Med nin knowledge still. Sakura would know about Shizune's poison and though Shizune would know Sakura's too, i havent seen anything (thus far in the series) that would have me believe Shizune could counter her attack.
