Why must one acknowledge a statement when they know it's true? Respect? No, another excuse. Kishi just wrote that he is the best genjutsu user. Why must he write itachi repeating the same thing he just wrote. The only reason there'd be a need for that is for certain people who can't comprehend the most simplest writing from the manga.

His eyes were so great that he had to commit suicide in order to avoid a war over his eyes. Do you understand that, a freaking War for his eyes! So wait, how does everyone know that Senju DNA empowers Shisui's genjutsu? Show me the scan of that. Only someone like orochimaru and his knowledge and research could discover that. Dunno why you're saying individuals as if there was some kind of kotoamatsukami instruction manual in the ninja world.

And we know Shisui could utilise his genjutsu more than that. Because Ao said he'd witnessed Shisui's genjutsu before, he then planned to use it on the uchiha clan. So unless Shisui encountered Ao 10 years ago as a kid, then obviously he can use it more.

Whatever I guess it's impossible to argue over a characters power if we've never seen it truly in action. The only strong genjutsu power we've heard from shisui is kotoamasutkami. We've never seen if any other type of genjutsu from shisui was stronger than itachi's. Yes shisui had the single most powerful genjutsu ability but because of its long cooldown it had a big weakness. Kishi created this to kinda give it some weakness cuz otherwise it be too op.

I had a feeling Shisui taught Itachi crow summoning.

I say paled copy because

1- Crows copied from Shisui
2- Genjutsu prowess copied from Shisui
3- MS abilities given by Shisui(through his death)
4- Both Susanoo users

And Shisui was also recognised for his shunshin prowess

Practically entire Itachi's arsenal is a copy from Shisui's and in majority of them, Shisui is recognised as his superior, making him a pale copy U_U

When shisui was alive they were near equals and shisui was older.

Itachi has similar Justus but aside from kotoamatsukami (and shunshin) he has long since surpassed shisui.

You're the one debating for a featless character. I used statements from the manga. Yes, Shisui was the strongest when he was alive. Later on, Itachi surpassed him. Obito, Madara, Sasuke, and Itachi are all stronger than Shisui in their prime.

Bee said that he considered him to be the best genjutsu user of the Uchiha clan. When was that exactly? When Itachi was 13. He's progressed since then. The clan hasn't existed for a while. Lol Props to Shisui for being the best genjutsu user when alive, though. U_U

He gave his remaining eye to Itachi because he wanted it to be in safe hands and for people not to fight over it. He didn't commit suicide solely for that reason, but to cut down Uchiha forces. This just means his eyes were special. Lol With Senju DNA, of course.

Orochimaru knew. Danzo knew. Tobi/Obito knew. Kabuto knew. Itachi himself knew. How could Itachi possibly know that Senju DNA took down the decade long cool down time to a few hours if Shisui didn't inform him prior? Orochimaru wasn't the only one who new.

Yes, Shisui knew basic 3-tomoe genjutsu... most Uchiha with 3-tomoe do. Shisui was above 18 + when he died. He had evidently used the KA in one of his eyes before, considering the eye he gave Itachi was on cool-down already. Danzo took the eye he was planning to use. He could only use his MS once a decade. Nothing to get upset over.

Shisui probably taught Itachi how to summon Crows, just like Jiraiya taught Minato/Naruto to summon Toads, or Orochimaru Sasuke to summon Snakes.
