Right. But having a similarity does not mean that one is a pale copy. They all learn the basis for their techs from somewhere else or get inspiration from somewhere/something. This is normal.

Shisui being known for shunshin is a given when he's a young adult commonly volunteering for missions in the Uchiha clan in the open where people can take note of his abilities.

Itachi being in secretive organizations since he was a young boy (Anbu and later Akatsuki) does not allow for many others to see his abilities and come up with a nickname for him.

This isn't something you can compare given the environments they were in. So, no. This is not a point where Shisui>Itachi.

It makes you a pale copy if you are weaker in those areas than the original like Itachi is U_U

Bold: The fact a stranger like Ao knew Itachi's genjutsu prowess makes this part invalid, so no Itachi's abilities were known. It was just Shisui who was better U_U

But in the gameplay, Shishui was hyping up Itachi.

Saying he can beat him if he was serious...

Danzo trashed him, and he used Susanoo with one eye.

There's serious inconsistencies to call that canon though.

Oh, as far as abilities go...idk. I've always been a big fan of Kotoamatsukami lol. Now that I think about it, isn't it kind of strange that Shisui wasn't with ANBU or Root? His skill set seems perfect for subterfuge and...Danzo-esque tasks lol. What did he even do? I'm not sure if it was ever mentioned, but one would expect the grandchild of Tobirama's favorite Uchiha and the man Itachi most admired to be like more renowned I guess. Right? Or to at least have “protected from the shadows” like Itachi did (another thing that makes it odd that Danzo wasn’t trying to recruit him). But he kind of just got mugged and then killed himself :/

Having the greatest genjutsu power does make you the greatest genjutsu user... on paper.. However the reality is overall greater genjutsu abilities supercede as noted with all KA users and all Genjutsu users. Shishu with KA is greatest one in the clan due to how strong KA is but overall Itachi was way better. ESPECIALLY when he had KA

Ah so we not going off of assumptions? Well then... Shishu ONLY known genjutsu was KA.... which based on manga was very limited and time restricted (From what we know)... he was known for having the "Strongest Genjutsu" but never been known as the "Strongest genjutsu user"

He's not weaker in those areas. At least not when he became older (Akatsuki).

Ao said it, but Shikaku Nara did as well. Which makes it very relevant considering that he has extensive files on shinobi in NV and was in charge of the intelligence sector during the war arc.

Shisui was only better when he was alive because Itachi was a child. Itachi got older and surpassed him.

Shisui was the best for his time, considering Itachi was younger and Shisui was the only one with MS. That's where his title comes from. The moment after Itachi got MS, he began to surpass the former.

His only reputable hype is that he had the strongest genjutsu KA, which could be used once a decade. He was also stated to be the best genjutsu user, because he was the only one with MS during his lifetime. Other than that, most everything is standard.

I never called Shisui a copy, so don't direct those comments at me. Minatos primary jutsu is FTG, and the rest of the jutsu he uses aren't related to Tobirama ie barrier ninjutsu, sealing jutsu, toad summonings, senjutsu and rasengan. So he's far from a copy.

And I'm not a feat *****, they aren't always needed, sometimes common sense or just pure manga facts is enough. Shisui was called the greatest genjutsu user of the uchiha, something itachi didn't disagree with, nothing more to it. Shisui's nickname was Shisui of the body flicker, no way itachi surpassed him. I don't need feats here, because I can read and that's good enough. You get high level sharingan genjutsu ability just from awakening MS. Sasuke's first MS feat was interrogating a guy to spill out all the info he had and then he put him to sleep iirc.

I like Shisui a lot, he's like the uchiha version of minato imo.
