Shisui and Itachi

Both shisui and Itachi seem to have gained their MS around the same time.

How is it that they did it without killing eachother?
The manga hints they were best friends, and Itachi lied by saying that he killed his Best friend(Shisui) but shisui killed himself after he gave itachi his MS.

If itachi did kill shisui(after he got MS-Shisui) then how did shisui get HIS ms?

Also, if shisui was itachi's mentor does that mean shisui is stronger than Itachi?

Same way kakashi gained it natural progression and using your eyes the only difference is kakashi has only one so he would only lose one light.

Most likely MS comes from suffering a great loss. Kakashi got his without killing any1 since every1 important to him was gone or dead and Guy was still alive. Sasuke got his after he realized he killed Itachi when Itachi was really protecting him. Shisui most likely suffered a loss and gained his. Itachi gained his from Shisui's death.

Kakashi awakened his MS as he was suffered fatal injury(mental) as he was stuck with Itachi for 3 days in that dimension(Just saying).. Itachi used to train so hard. He might as well have done it beyond his capability and awakened MS.

I basically agree with this, it was said that you must suffer a great loss and or kill someone very close to you. To my knowledge it was never stated how Kakashi upgraded his to MS, nor how Shisui got his, so it can only be speculated. It's very plausible that Itachi received his from killing shisui but no idea how Shisui got his, maybe by killing someone else, I wanted to know the reason for his "suicide" maybe that had something to do with it?
