I never really considered them to have a father-daughter like relationship, just a sensei-gakusei relationship and nothing else.

But well, it depends on what kind of story it is *shrugs* There are ones where Sakura is around the same age as Kakashi or who just met him randomnly and hit it off with him - though I haven't seen many fics with them as couple. I think their relationship works the best in an AU story because then their ages etc can be changed

Sure it's weird because of their cannon relationship, but I've seen weirder ships *shrugs* Everyone has some pairings they like, regardless of the potentional weirdness factor.

it's as they say, art imitates life, but no one wants to endorse the pairings of 30 somethings with teeny boppers, who've yet to even have their own real life relationships.

Not those two, no. I just regard them as sensei and gakusei and that's it. Jiraiya and Naruto had more of a father-son relationship in my opinion because they were a lot closer.
To me, it depends on the characters.

Is it odd that KakaSaku doesn't bother me, but Naruto x Mei Terumi and Shikamaru x Kurenai do? The age differences are about the same.

As for the pairing, well I think I have seen Sakura with just about everyone except for Choji. Only Naruto gets shipped more than her. But KakaSaku is probably her most popular crack ship(even more than GaaSaku) and there must be a reason why. I think because Sakura is really the only female character Kakashi has really interacted with the exception of Rin. The fact that Sakura seems to have a lot of Rin in her, only adds to it. She just seems like Kakashi's type.

I prefer the KakaSaku stuff when Sakura is older. The fanart is much hotter when she is shown as a beautiful young woman. Or when she is written as being older. The younger Sakura(13-17) with Kakashi just seems like a teacher fetish thing.

I am usually not a big fan of AMV's (maybe because of the huge amount of crappy ones and they pop up in searches, when you dont want to find them ). But this Sakura AMV, was actually pretty damm good.

And as I said before, it got me shipping from the fics I read where usually things happen after Sakura's 18th so yeah..

@Crimson, the one that I read was actually pretty close to their characters so that's why I liked it. It was very well written.

@Pakura,mm, dunno I have seen her with Kakashi, Itachi, Sasuke, Naruto and Gaara mostly.
And as I said, before, this is a ship that would happen later on, anyway...
