Shippō is very small in stature with brown-auburn hair, green eyes, and a cream-colored, fluffy tail. The tail isn't real, it is attached to his belt. He wears blue pants, a turquoise shirt patterned with leaves and a tan vest with a thin black belt. His feet look like those of a fox, because the shoes he wears make them look like them. His hair is kept up in a small ponytail with a turquoise bow. Shippō's ears are narrow and pointed.
Personality
Shippō has a strong will to follow through on things once he made a decision. Despite being a innocent child, he has a strong will for revenge if anyone close to him is hurt. Since he usually forgets he is a skilled shinobi, he is often afraid and hides behind his comrades when threatened. However, when it comes to a showdown, he has the courage to confront the most dreadful enemies and dangerous situations. He fights bravely for his friends, overcoming his fears. In spite of his youth, he has an unwavering toughness in his heart.
More than anything else, just being with everyone makes Shippō happy. It is harder for him to be apart from them than it is to travel with them in dangerous situations or to experience adversity. For Shippō, who lost his parents, his companions are now as good as family to him. Shippō expresses his feelings honestly to them without hiding anything often strengthened their bonds. Shippō is sharp and extremely perceptive, allowing him to analyze any situation. Many times his wits have saved them from a variety of dangers. He understands his own capabilities well, and because he is willing to do whatever he can in any given situation, he is able to apply them to good effect.
Shippō thinks he is already a fine grown-up. He sometimes surprises people with his mature remarks and actions, which are unimaginable based on his looks. Shippō usually has good judgement, and his words and actions are usually adult-like. He is, in fact, quite young. Having the indiscretion of a child, he sometimes shows a more simple and childish side. He is sensitive to his companions' feelings. With a gentle heart, he tries to act as a go-between. He employs a variety of methods, like pushing stubborn friends from behind or resolving misunderstandings. He tries hard to cheer up the ones he loves.

Prologue: Birth of the Akimichi of the Rain
Shippō is the son of Akichou Akimichi and Ametora of the Village Hidden in Rain and was born in Amegakure. His father defected from Konohagakure's Akimichi to go to Amegakure and his mother was an elected official that worked for Hanzō. His parents met in Amegakure, where his father had been sent on a mission to attempt to assassinate Hanzō, the leader of Amegakure. It was an unanticipated meeting simply by having a drink in the Tavern.
It was an unexpeacted affair in which, Akichou would prolong his stay in Amegakure to be with Ametora. And as a result he, would fall in love and due to his love for Ametora, he defected from Konohagakure and started a life with his love.
9 months after their wedding, Shippō was born. In his early years, from about the age of 2, his father trained him in Strong Fist Taijutsu and the Akimichi Clan's Hiden jutsu, mastering them by the age 5. He was then accepted into the Amegakure Ninja Academy where he graduated within a single year.

A very traumatizing time in Shippō's life was when his parents died. It was when he had just turned 7 years old and during the time of the Third Great Shinobi War. His parents had been sent out on a mission as a scouting party. Shippō, wanting to help as much as possible, followed them.
When he had finally caught up with his parents, he had found them severely injured whilst facing three shinobi that were from Konohagakure. He would later find that they were the Legendary Sannin; Orochimaru, Jiraiya and Tsunade. Seeing his parents in such a state made him loose control of himself and he recklessly attacked the Sannin. Upon being struck to the ground by a kick of Orochimaru's, Shippō was about to be struck by one of Jiraiya's techniques, how ever before it hit, Shippō's mother moved in front of him and took the frontal assault of the technique, whilst his father was attacking Orochimaru.
Frozen in shock at the scene before him, Shippō was crying at seeing his mother and father, dying in front of him. Before he passed out from shock and exhaustion, he heard his father pleading with Jiraiya to let their son live, as it seemed that Shippō's father had once been a comrade of Jiraiya. Fulfilling their final wishes, the 3 Sannin walked away, leaving Shippō alone with his dead parents and on the verge of unconsciousness.

Thinking that he must have died he began to ask if this was Heaven or Hell, which caused a small uproar amongst the Cat Family. Just before the smaller cats were about to attack, the queen of the Cat family called out for everyone to cease their actions of violence. The queens name was Rinsei and she was very kind to Shippō, taking him under her, metaphoric, wing. Taking him in as her own.
For several months, Shippō was trained by Rinsei in how to summon members of the family, which of course meant that he was now a signer of their contract. By this time, the entire family had welcomed him and treated him like one of their own. However he had to return to Amegakure and was pleased to see that the home of the cats, wasn't to far away. And even though he lives in the Village, he spends all of his free time at the Cats Home, training and relaxing.
For several months, Shippō was trained by Rinsei in how to summon members of the family, which of course meant that he was now a signer of their contract. By this time, the entire family had welcomed him and treated him like one of their own. However he had to return to Amegakure and was pleased to see that the home of the cats, wasn't to far away. And even though he lives in the Village, he spends all of his free time at the Cats Home, training and relaxing.

Katon was Shippō's first Elemental Affinity. From an early age, Shippō has displayed a great amount of skill in the use of Katon Techniques. Through years of training, he was able to have complete mastery over this element and is capable of using all fire based jutsu with only one handseal.
Doton
Doton was Shippō's second Elemental Affinity. He had also displayed great skill in its uses. As such of this skill and mastery, he is able to perform all Doton Techniques at a faster speed then that of the average shinobi.

Miyamoto and Hattori
Miyamoto and Hattori are blades that can be joined together or kept apart. Miyamoto has got a white colored blade that is 23 inches long and has got the name 'Miyamoto' engraved along the blade. The hilt guard is that of the black half (Yang) of the Yin and Yang symbol. Hattori's appearance is identical to that of Miyamoto, however instead of white the blade is black with 'Hattori' engraved along the blade and the hilt guard is that of the white half (Yin) of the Yin and Yang symbol. This is so that when they are connected together the hilt guards combine to form a complete Ying and Yang.
